The Seattle Aquarium is the ninth largest aquarium in the U.S. by attendance and among the top five paid visitor attractions in the Puget Sound region. Since our opening, we’ve hosted over 22 million visitors and provided marine conservation education to over 1.6 million school children. We’re proud to be accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Opened in 1977, the Seattle Aquarium was owned and operated by the City of Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation until 2010, when the nonprofit Seattle Aquarium Society assumed its management—a model used by most leading zoos and aquariums across the country. In 2007, the Aquarium opened a major expansion that added 18,000 square feet of space to the facility, including an impressive 120,000-gallon exhibit, a gift shop, café, meeting/event space and more. Our mission, Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment, is reflected in everything we do—exhibits, events, conservation and education programs, research activities and more. This important work wouldn’t be possible without support from our community, members, staff and volunteers. The Seattle Aquarium operates as a nonprofit 501c3, through a long-term operating agreement with the City of Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation.

Born in the spirit of innovation at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, the Pacific Science Center (PacSci) has ignited curiosity for more than 60 years. Located in Tacoma, Washington, Museum of Glass is a premier contemporary art museum dedicated to glass and glassmaking in the West Coast’s largest and most active museum glass studio. LeMay – America’s Car Museum, a member of America’s Automotive Trust, is an international destination for families and auto enthusiasts to celebrate America’s love affair with the automobile and learn how it shaped our society. Based in Tacoma, Wash., the stunning 165,000-sq.-ft. facility has been recognized as one of MSN’s 10 Best Automotive Museums worldwide, USA Today’s 10 Best Museums in Seattle and KING5’s Best Museum in Western Washington. Greentrike is the parent company that powers the Children’s Museum of Tacoma and the Children’s Museum at JBLM. Greentrike started its journey as the Children’s Museum of Tacoma but quickly grew to become more than just a museum. Greentrike currently supports a myriad of programs that serve children and youth across Pierce County. Our Museums are Pay As You Will admission, where visitors contribute through donations. This admission model is the only one of its kind among children’s museums across the nation. Children’s Museum of Tacoma is an interactive play-based facility located in the heart of downtown Tacoma. Each year the Museum’s Pay As You Will Admission serves over 140,000 visitors. Children’s Museum at JBLM is the first ever children’s museum on a military base. Our Museum at JBLM is designed to serve military families by providing programming and access to dynamic playscapes within JBLM. Greentrike continues to expand beyond its roots to provide programs that honor children and champion play. Greentrike offers child-centered programs such as Play to Learn and Preschool Powered by Play. Play to Learn is the county’s largest outreach program for children and their adults. This free, drop in program engages participants in fun group activities that support age appropriate development in young children. Greentrike's Preschool Powered by Play program is inspired by the best in early childhood education. At our preschool, facilitators listen, observe, and provoke thoughtful investigations to follow the emergent interests of children within the intentionally designed play-based classroom.

BIMA features contemporary art and craft made in the Puget Sound region. The museum exhibits, interprets, preserves, collects, and promotes works of proven cultural value as well as new works by emerging artists. We mount our own exhibitions and also draw from other institutions and collections.
