The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust seeks to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants and enrichment programs to nonprofit organizations that seek to strengthen the region's educational, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.

As a Children's Ministry Intern for Glenwood Community Church, I had the opportunity to explore my potential to lead effectively as well my ability to thrive within a team environment. Through the internship, I was placed in a position in which I was tasked with planning and coordinating events alongside the whole Children’s Ministry team. In addition, I was given the opportunity to help raise support for mentally and physically disabled orphans in Taiyuan, China. Over the course of 5 days, through presenting in front of hundreds of parents and children, I was able to help raise thousands of dollars of support for the orphans.

In response to the love of Jesus, Forward Edge integrates long-term programs for vulnerable children and their communities with strategic short-term mission trips that provide unique opportunities for mutual growth. This generates meaningful relationships, which lead to resources for the children and communities to thrive, and opportunities for everyone involved to experience deeper personal transformation. Forward Edge programs empower impoverished children toward sustainable change, so they can in turn serve and impact their own communities, surrounding regions, and ultimately, change the world. Forward Edge mission trips provide accelerated discipleship opportunities for Christ followers to put their faith in action and get inspired to continue living ‘on mission’ in their own communities, surrounding regions, and ultimately, change the world.
