Managed day-to-day operations of clinical laboratory for genetic testing. Involved in strategic planning regarding buildings and grounds. Additional responsibilities included:
• Execution of ongoing improvement processes to increase efficiency and productivity of staff while reducing operating costs. Worked within budget, created reports, quoted out maintenance, repair, and remodeling jobs. Maintained all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air for laboratory needs for the company.
• Managed $2 million renovation project to meet anticipated laboratory projections. The project finished on time and slightly under budget. Project included the establishment of a Class 1000 clean room.
• Executed HVAC system upgrade project including steam humidifier to maintain humidity necessary for specialized laboratory functions.
• Worked with all departments to meet timelines for multiple projects including; laboratory expansion, increased sales volume, increased billing and collections area demands.
• Served as purchasing agent for all laboratory and corporate goods
• Provide material management for all inbound and outbound shipments including; Procurement and divestment of high value laboratory equipment.
• Managed hazardous wastes, completed OSHA and DOT trainings as required.
• Chemical, Hazardous, and Biohazardous waste shipments in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Managed mailroom including distribution,, postage on outgoing mail, and intercompany mail.
• Served as corporate Safety Officer: created safety program in compliance with DOT, OSHA and EPA. Wrote policy, created standard operating procedures, provided training, and ongoing safety monitoring.
• Established and coordinated continuing education program for staff routine trainings such as bloodborne pathogens, chemical hygiene, and HIPAA
