Rogue Disposal & Recycling has been providing innovative solid waste solutions in Southern Oregon since 1938. A recognized leader in Oregon’s solid waste management, our founder helped pioneer the industry beginning in 1921. Today, Rogue continues as a family-run company, led by our founder’s grandson. These days, our services reach well beyond the weekly garbage can. We partner with our customers in every aspect of the waste management process. We’re a leader in curbside recycling — including commingled recycling, yard debris recycling & more. We’re helping area customers in new ways, too, through document shredding, electronics recycling and the region’s most convenient CNG fueling station. And we’re dedicated to a broad range of school and community-based environmental programs. All designed to add to the amazing quality of life for the people we serve and the community we call home. Under the Rogue Waste corporate banner, the company operates various subsidiaries throughout southwestern Oregon. Our Rogue Transfer & Recycling facility regularly processes more than 600 customers a day, accepting garbage, green waste & recyclables. Rogue Materials Recovery prepares our recyclable materials for shipment to markets around the globe. The Dry Creek Landfill serves southwestern Oregon and northernmost California, with a projected operational life exceeding 100 years. Rogue Compost, southwest Oregon’s largest composting facility, produces compost certified for organic farming. And Rogue Shred provides confidential on-site document shredding throughout our regional service area. While times and technologies have changed the way we do business, our steadfast commitment to our customers, employees and community serves as the foundation for everything we do. Our company culture is one of integrity and accountability to our customers, excellence in our industry, and a truly collaborative, team-oriented work environment where employees are viewed (and view themselves) as part of the Rogue family. The level of care and commitment by the owners is reflected in the company’s low turnover rate and long employee tenure. In addition to providing world-class service to some 45,000 customers, Rogue Disposal & Recycling offers family wage jobs to more than 120 employees and provides countless community service hours — as well as meaningful financial resources — to meet a wide array of needs throughout the Rogue Valley. Here, community service is a team effort — from the CEO/owner and his family through the employees and their families. GENAN, INC.
GENAN, INC.
Houston, Texas
201-500 employees
Genan is the largest recycler of End-of-Life Tyres (ELTs) in the world. We are committed to a sustainable planet, and we believe that true recycling is best achieved through innovation, quality and transparency. Our philosophy is that sustainability is a shared responsibility, and we devote our efforts to continuously finding new and innovative ways to recycle ELTs. Each year, millions of tons of tyres are worn out; yet, although they are no longer fit for the roads, they still represent a massive resource. By shredding, granulating and milling end-of-life tyres and using the rubber granules and powders for various applications, we give tyres a second life. Recycled tyre rubber may even be used for the production of new tyres, substituting virgin material for a sustainable cradle-to-cradle recycling. This is the core of the Genan concept: reusing materials of excellent quality in an environmentally sustainable way, thereby saving resources. Compared to both incineration and civil engineering applications, recycling of ELTs is by far the most environment-friendly and sustainable solution to what would otherwise be a waste problem. The recycling process results in significantly less CO2 emission than the incineration of tyres in e.g. cement kilns: an estimated 1.1 tons less CO2 per 1 ton of tyres – indeed a substantial reduction of global warming potential (GWP). In average, a tyre consists of 75% rubber, 15% steel and 10% textile fibers. When separated through the Genan process technology, all these materials can be recycled. At Genan, sustainability is our core value, and we are constantly optimising our processes and diversifying our products – to the benefit of our customers, the environment and the global community.
