The Associated General Contractors of America, the voice of the construction industry, is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry related companies dedicated to skill, integrity and responsibility. Since 1923, AGC Houston members, design firms and owners in the Houston commercial building industry have benefited from the services provided by AGC Houston. Our members remain the most well-informed business partners in the construction industry by utilizing the services available to assist them in delivering projects that fully meet owners'​ expectations. Through AGC Houston, members avail themselves to a wide-range of services that would be costly or unavailable on an individual basis. These services help them deliver their construction services without unnecessary, costly distractions that can eventually impact the owner. AGC Houston's services are developed by contractors and industry professionals who know first-hand what is needed to make a project successful for the owner and other members of the team. Being able to tap into the hundreds of AGC services (local, state and national) allows member firms to devote their attention to the project without having to invent their own solutions to common problems. This is to the AGC member's advantage that transfers to the project and the owner. AGC Houston, one of 100 chapters nationwide, has 1,000 members consisting of general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service firms. Nationally, AGC represents more than 33,000 firms, including 7,500 of America's leading general contractors, and 12,000 specialty-contracting firms. Over 14,000 service providers and suppliers are also associated with AGC, through a nationwide network of chapters.

Scouting teaches practical first aid skills, swimming, canoeing, backpacking and camping, as well as a love and respect for the outdoors. Scouting teaches kindness -- and urges Scouts to do a good turn daily for others. The Sam Houston Area Council's services area includes the following counties of Southeast Texas: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, (portion of) Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, (portion of) Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton.
