The Central Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL) promotes the independence of people with disabilities by supporting their equal and full participation in life. CCCIL provides advocacy, education and support to people with disabilities, their families and the community. We are a cross-disability organization, meaning that we provide service to people with any kind of disability, from autism to quadriplegia, and we work with people of any age, from children through seniors. Our main office is located in Salinas, and we service Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties.

The Food Bank for Monterey County, a certified Feeding America food bank, is the largest supplier of emergency food in Monterey County, serving onefifth of all Monterey County residents.

The Alliance on Aging (AoA) was created in 1970 to support the unmet needs of seniors living in Monterey County. Since that time, the AoA has evolved into an umbrella organization offering a wide variety of services and programs designed to meet the psycho-social, health, and economic needs of older persons living in Monterey County. Supported by a dedicated team of 20-plus staff and over 150 volunteers, the AoA is a dynamic, professional organization preparing for unprecedented growth in the senior population.

Founded in 1984 by Gary W. Steinke, MD; Rose Kleiner, MSW, LCSW; Michael Gilfix, Esq.; and Elayne Brill, Hearts & Minds Activity Center emerged as the first large-capacity dementia-specific adult day program in the country. Since its inception, Hearts & Minds has provided services to over 6,000 individuals living with dementia and their families. As a licensed 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Hearts & Minds Activity Center operates an additional program on-site: a childcare center that collaborates with its counterpart for daily intergenerational activities. Established in 1992 as a parent cooperative for the young children of members of staff, the childcare center has since evolved into a licensed daycare, open to the public for over fifteen years.

Court Appointed Special Advocates - CASA of Santa Cruz County empowers volunteers to influence life-changing decisions for a child in foster care. CASA volunteer Advocates are everyday people, trained by CASA and then appointed by judges to advocate for the safety of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect. Advocates are fully supported by a staff supervisor and are part of a team that works in the best interests of the child. CASA volunteers devote 2-4 hours a week getting to know the child and gathering information from everyone involved in the child’s case. Advocates stay with each case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Launched in 2004, HIP’s member organizations represent Santa Cruz County's major health care providers and other key community stakeholders. HIP recognizes that our community's health care system is interdependent — when one sector is struggling, everyone is adversely affected.
