United Way of Northern New Jersey is working to advance the common good by focusing on EDUCATION, INCOME, and HEALTH. The NEPA Alliance, a regional community and economic development agency, serves the seven counties of Northeastern Pennsylvania including Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne. NEPA Alliance services include Business Financing, Government Contracting Assistance, International Trade Assistance, Non Profit Assistance, Transportation Planning, Research and Information, and Local Government Services. Since 1917, the Hydraulic Institute (HI) - the largest association of pump industry manufacturers in North America - has served member companies and pump users by providing product standards and a forum for the exchange of industry information. HI has established itself as the leading spokesperson for the North American pump industry. The Institute offers a wide variety of programs and services, each tailored to member needs: standards development, networking opportunities, access to specific statistical data and economic reports, promotional opportunities, educational materials, breaking industry news, participation in industry initiatives, and more. The Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America (Council #358) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of good character, citizenship and personal fitness. The Patriots’ Path Council serves more than 15,000 youth members and 5,000 leaders each year in the counties of Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union and parts of Middlesex, New Jersey. Some 400 local organizations have a Cub Pack, Scouts BSA Troop, Venture Crew, Ship or Explorer Post as a part of their service to youth. The Patriots’ Path Council’s core objective is to build strong personal values, family values and character in young people by providing program activities that teach, support and encourage such values.

As a private, nonprofit organization, Homeless Solutions, Inc. has been helping the homeless and working poor in our community since 1983. In 2017, 600 people received shelter and housing through our programs and services. Our highly-structured Shelter Programs provide goal-oriented case management, our Life Skills Curriculum, childcare, linkages to medical care and transportation, and more. Our Transitional Housing Program focuses on budgeting and saving to prepare guests to return to independent living, and includes our Life Skills Curriculum and childcare assistance. Selected as one of 45 Sikh scholars for the esteemed Sikh Research Institute’s leadership retreat in British Columbia, I had the distinct privilege of participating in an immersive, two-week program nestled in the awe-inspiring mountains. Surrounded by some of the most respected thought leaders in Sikh scholarship, we engaged in profound discussions on Sikh texts and theology, critically examined contemporary issues like the role of Sikhs in politics, and reflected on the evolving nature of Sikh identity in the modern world. This transformative experience was a powerful convergence of intellectual rigor, spiritual growth, and a deepened commitment to advancing Sikh thought and leadership.
