Founded in 1976, the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence is the oldest statewide domestic violence coalition in the nation. In the recent past, Crucible provided its specialized expertise to the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), through its Criminal Justice Program Support (CJPS) contract. Crucible CJP is operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Garud Technology Services, Inc., managed separately and excluded from the parent company. Crucible CJP serves U.S. Government customers with a security cleared workforce, delivering a wide range of professional services for national security and law enforcement mission support.

BCAP’s mission is to combat poverty in the city of Reading and Berks County and to help low- and moderate-income residents become more self-sufficient. As a Community Action Program, BCAP works to reduce poverty by coordinating local, state, private and federal resources to assist low-income individuals and families.

Family Service is a nonprofit counseling and human service agency that has been rooted in Chester County, Pennsylvania since 1947. Today, more than 70 years later, Family Service has evolved into a diverse, community-based human service agency. The Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network is the foundation that amplifies and supports legal aid initiatives across all 67 counties of Pennsylvania. Since our start in 1973, we have played a critical role in supporting the provision of free legal services by ensuring that our Network of legal aid organizations have the resources, training, and funding they need to grow and thrive. Together, as a united front, we guarantee access to free civil legal advice, representation, and education for families in need across the state.

For over 25 years the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) has worked to strengthen the capacity of programs responding to domestic violence victims and their families by promoting effective public policy, institutional response and research, and engagement in prevention. NRCDV was established in 1993 with funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). NRCDV operated as a national project housed within the structure of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) until spinning off as an independent organization in 2011. Today, through key initiatives and special projects, NRCDV works with many other organizations and partners who bring various expertise's, backgrounds, and perspectives, to improve community response to domestic violence and, ultimately, prevent its occurrence. NRCDV focuses on working through comprehensive technical assistance, training, resource development. Together these three strategies and our key initiatives help us to facilitate a deeper focus on a particular issue or population. NRCDV’s project goals, objectives, approaches and activities are developed in response to feedback from the field and analysis of over 60,000 requests for assistance.

• Researched and drafted memos on immigration issues, due process, contract unconscionability, wage-and-hour claims, disparate impact claims, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. • Interacted with government agencies to resolve outstanding warrants, on childcare policy, and workforce investment. •Researched workforce investment policy around braided funding to give a state agency a model for providing holistic support services to priority populations in job training programs.

For 90 years United Way of Lancaster County has been helping generous contributors make change happen in their community. By focusing its Community Impact Fund investments on the underlying causes of the county’s most serious problems, United Way maximizes investors’ gifts to accomplish four bold goals by 2025: (1) 100% of Lancaster County children will enter kindergarten ready to learn, (2) 100% of students and adults will have post-secondary credentials, (3) Decrease individuals and families living in poverty by 50%, and (4) 100% of individuals, children, and families will have a medical home. Fostering collaborations between nonprofit organizations, businesses, faith-based groups, volunteers, and government, United Way and its supporters create lasting change in Lancaster County, achieving results that no single sector could accomplish alone.

Helping Harvest (formerly known as Greater Berks Food Bank) has continued to successfully fulfill its mission “to feed the hungry” since opening in 1983. In our first year, 500,000 pounds of food was distributed to 12 food assistance programs to provide nourishment for the low income sector of our community. Today, we provide food and other resources to 300 partner agencies in our two county service area. This network consists of traditional food assistance programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Additionally, we operate several highly effective direct service programs. As the sole distribution center for food assistance in Berks and Schuylkill Counties, Helping Harvest is vital to the health of our community, housing an ever-rotating inventory of refrigerated, fresh, and frozen foods as well as other grocery store items. Annually, Helping Harvest provides nearly 10 million pounds of nourishment to people in need, and to the organizations that provide service to them. Food from our distribution center nourishes over 150,000 individuals throughout Berks and Schuylkill Counties each year.
