EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION Northwest Youth Corps offers a challenging education and job-training experience that helps youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds develop the skills they need to lead full and productive lives. Our programs include residential conservation crews for both youth and young adults, local community crews, an internship program for college aged participants, a fully accredited high school, and a two-acre organic farm. Philosophy Our core purpose is to provide opportunities for youth and young adults to learn, grow, and experience success. Our programs focus on education, challenge, community, leadership and empowerment, giving youth critical life skills and confidence. NYC programs stress teamwork, inclusion, and leadership while promoting a solid work ethic and individual achievement. Youth leave NYC knowing that they can overcome obstacles, solve problems, make friends, and attain their objectives in life. History Northwest Youth Corps was created in 1984 to offer teenagers an education-based, work experience modeled after the historic Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930's. In 1984, support from Oregon's forest products industry and grants from four northwest foundations, allowed NYC to start its' first program and serve 52 teens. Today, we serve over 1,000 youth each year across a four state region.

Rural Development Initiatives, Inc. is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Coburg, Oregon. RDI was formed in 1991 in response to the timber industry crisis facing the Pacific Northwest. Today RDI is continuing to support rural communities as they work through challenging economic conditions. RDI’s nationally recognized programs and services help communities help themselves with effective and results-oriented training and resources necessary for individuals living in rural communities to build and sustain a better future in their communities. Our work is based upon our genuine commitment to help rural people and communities build rural capacity through Leadership Development programs and strengthen Rural Economic Vitality through moving capacity into action.

The Institute for Applied Ecology is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1999. Our vision is for people and wildlands to interact positively and meet environmental challenges with research-based techniques and hands-on community support. Our 35+ full-time staff manage many restoration sites in Oregon and the Southwestern US, have planted thousands of native plants, and engage youth as well as adults and juveniles in custody with ecology lessons. Our programs have accomplished much for our mission to restore ecosystems (Habitat Restoration Program, Native Plant Materials), connect people with nature (Ecological Education Program), and research efficient conservation methods (Conservation Research Program, Estuary Technical Group).

The Eugene Mission, in existence since 1956, is Eugene/Springfield's only full-service wellness center for the homeless, providing its guests with a path off the streets, both for the short-term and long-term. Our Mission is to demonstrate God's love by compassionately providing emergency services and long-term solutions to help our homeless neighbors transition back into the community with gainful employment, sustainable income, and stable housing. The Eugene Mission is a 501-c-3 non-profit and donations are tax deductible.

United Way of Lane County works closely with community leaders, volunteers, and partner organizations that span the nonprofit, for-profit and government sectors to ensure every child can be successful in school and life. United Way is the representation of our community coming together around the idea that something better is possible. We invest in opportunities to create a better life and a brighter future for all of Lane county residents.

Youth development is our focus. We deliver highly impactful programs and activities for school age youth (6 to 18) to help ensure they successfully advance in school through graduation, develop strong values and character, and live healthy lives.
