They work on issues ranging from oil and gas development and large mining projects to toxic wastes, air and water pollution, public land use, wildlife preservation, and the protection of marine resources. Our successes have set significant legal precedent in environmental law on state and national levels, and our work benefits Alaska’s environment and human communities. Our efforts include specific effort to help villages protect their food and water sources to more comprehensive efforts to reduce carbon emissions and fossil fuel extraction to address the catastrophic impacts of climate change, particularly on fragile Arctic and subarctic ecosystems. Our work relies on donations from foundations and individuals who care about protecting Alaska’s natural places and ecosystems.
