United Way of the Columbia-Willamette has been bringing our community together to do good for nearly 100 years. We connect the people, nonprofits, businesses and government agencies addressing poverty in our region. Our region’s poverty rate is down, yet poverty is still growing for too many kids. We continue to struggle with helping the kids who need it most stay in school and graduate. And, our region’s housing crisis has many families on the edge. The system is not working for ALL of our region’s kids which has an effect on all of us. We’re working hard to create a future where kids in our region are free from instability and worry so they can be free to play and discover, free to learn and grow. Free from poverty. Free to reach their potential. Together, we will continue to accomplish a lot for kids, families and communities: • More kindergarteners will show up prepared for school. • Kids who need help the most will stay in school and graduate on-time. • Families'​ basic needs will be met so their kids can focus in school. • We’ll keep connecting 1000s of volunteers to things that matter in our region. HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CENTER (HDC) is nonprofit consulting group based in Portland, Oregon. We partner with mission-driven organizations to create and sustain affordable homes and human service facilities that meet the needs of diverse communities. Working in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Oregon and southwest Washington, HDC has helped to develop and preserve more than 7,000 affordable homes and to improve the financial condition of thousands more. NHA's mission is to create opportunity through housing. We build and rehabilitate affordable housing for Oregonians earning low incomes including seniors, families and people with special needs. NHA also operates the Annie Ross House shelter for homeless families with children and provide rapid re-housing and stabilization services through our HomeBase program. Home is a place of safety and retreat, a place where family and community can grow. For some Oregonians with low incomes, having a place to call home is out of reach. Low wages or fixed incomes combined with the high cost of housing forces these families to choose between rent, utilities, nutritious food, medications and other basic necessities. NHA is working to provide new opportunities through quality affordable housing.

Community and Shelter Assistance Corp. (CASA of Oregon) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization specializing in the development of affordable housing, particularly in rural areas and especially for agricultural workers. Through our Family Economic Development Program, we offer the largest network Individual Development Program in the nation. CASA assists residents in manufactured housing communities to purchase and operate their communities. We also operate a $8.5 Million Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

At Open Adoption & Family Services, (OA&FS), Pregnant individuals/couples receive compassion and unbiased support as they explore all of their pregnancy options: parenting, abortion, adoption. If they decide to plan an open adoption, they choose, meet and create a relationship with adoptive parents that is similar to extended family. Our fully open adoptions include ongoing visits and lifelong services. OA&FS is the first and only agency in the Pacific Northwest founded on the philosophy of openness in adoption. We do more domestically-born newborn placements than any other agency in the region. Our first office opened in Eugene, Oregon in 1985. We're licensed in both Oregon and Washington, and we provide services to expectant parents and prospective adoptive parents throughout the United States. Our offices are located in Seattle, Portland and Eugene.

Children’s Center is a private, non-profit child abuse intervention center accredited by the National Children’s Alliance. Children are referred to us by law enforcement agencies, child protective workers, parents, teachers, health care providers, and others concerned for their welfare. Our mission is to support and medically assess children who are suspected victims of abuse or neglect. By providing medical examinations and forensic interviews, we support Clackamas County children and families experiencing suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect, including drug endangerment and witness to violence. - Medical examinations are comprehensive head-to-toe exams aimed at evaluating a child’s health and wellbeing. Medical providers may also perform or order testing for the child, such as urine testing, hair testing, or x-rays. - Specially trained forensic interviewers provide developmentally-appropriate interviews for children in a safe and neutral environment. The forensic interviews are digitally recorded and observed by child protective services and law enforcement at the Center. - Family Support services are available to any concerned caregiver, even if the child is not seen in the clinic for a full assessment. - Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, forensic interviewers, mental health providers, educators, and trained volunteers work alongside community partners to increase awareness of child abuse and provide professionals, caregivers, and families with the knowledge and helpful tools they need to help keep children safe. Incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 2002, Children’s Center hired its first administrative staff and worked out of Willamette Falls Hospital Foundation office in Oregon City. In 2015 Children's Center received accreditation from the National Children's Alliance, which provides support, technical assistance and quality assurance to nearly 800 child abuse intervention centers nationwide.

Children’s Cancer Research Fund supports the brightest scientists whose ideas make the greatest impact for children with cancer. We also support vital family services and advocate for childhood cancer education and awareness. Our goal is to help researchers develop safer, more effective treatment options for cancers where survival rates remain low or haven’t improved in decades. We provide research funding in the early stages of research and fill in gaps along the way, when funding from federal or other sources just isn’t available.
