Our mission is to be the recognized community-owned organization that initiates, teaches and encourages personal and corporate charitable giving today to ensure that the philanthropic needs of Oklahomans can be met for all generations. Tulsa Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, public charity organized in 1998 to receive, administer and distribute gifts from individuals and organizations for the improvement of the Tulsa and eastern Oklahoma area. TCF is among the largest community foundations in the nation.

The Indian Nations Council, originally called the Tulsa Council, was first chartered in 1911 and has a rich heritage of building leadership skills in youth. Today the Council serves more than 20,000 youth and over 4,000 adult volunteers throughout 18 counties in eastern Oklahoma. Over the past century the Council has positively impacted hundreds of thousands of Scouts and their families.

Established in 1921, GPA Midstream Association is a non-profit trade organization serving the midstream sector of the energy industry. GPA Midstream has more than 80 corporate members engaged in natural gas gathering, compression, treating, processing, storage and marketing, and natural gas liquids fractionation, transportation, storage and marketing. With a focus on sustainability, GPA Midstream Association’s mission is to responsibly serve and represent the midstream energy industry through collaborative expertise, safety and advocacy from its member companies and staff. There are gaps in our society: places where families and communities have failed. As God’s people, there is only one response to the gap. STAND IN IT! Today, we are impacting the lives of more than 3000 orphans (Life Launch), widows and prisoners (Women in Transition) annually. We raise funds through generous donations from individuals, churches and businesses as well as various foundation partners. We do not offer handouts. Instead, through healthy relationships, education, and prayer, People in need are empowered to break unhealthy patterns in their lives and achieve self-reliance. We connect people in need with people who care. LIFE LAUNCH invests in the lives of at-risk young people. Our staff and volunteers support youth wherever they are and encourage them on their journey to independence and self-sufficiency. Stand in the Gap empowers the church to support WIDOWS in practical and emotional ways. Whether hosting regular widows-only social gatherings, providing practical needs, or facilitating small groups of widows, Stand in the Gap provides tested and proven methods to help widows adjust to life after loss. WOMEN IN TRANSITION staff (all formerly incarcerated women) teach our Women in Transition curriculum inside seven Oklahoma prisons and jails. Our course facilitators share their personal stories as well as practical education about: anger management,the power of “no”, characteristics of co-dependency, dealing with stress, communication skills, facing addiction, and more. After a woman is released, our course facilitators provide one-on-one mentorship support to ensure that course graduates are willing to follow through on their commitment to life change. SITGM recruits and trains a small group of volunteers to come around a woman who is actively pursuing a healthy life after incarceration. A small group walks with a woman through her transition process, offering encouragement, mentoring, and most importantly, providing prayer support.

As a summer intern at TBC, I completed a variety of communication, media, and office assistant tasks. I designed physical and digital graphics for church use. I created, wrote, designed, printed and distributed the church newsletter. I designed an informational mailer that went out to the Tulsa community. I organized, designed, and installed a new signage system throughout the church facility. I also designed and produced t-shirts for youth programs. I was responsible for updating and maintaining church social media and web pages. I also edited a book of short bios of the church’s missionary families for content, style, grammar, and general flow of thought. I completed assignments in event planning: I organized, promoted, and carried out an event benefiting a family of returning church missionaries, and also organized and led a youth inner-city volunteer trip to John 3:16 Mission in north Tulsa.
