JAKE SWEENEY AUTOMOTIVE, INC.
JAKE SWEENEY AUTOMOTIVE, INC.
Cincinnati, Ohio
100-499 employees
Following World War I Walter Sweeney became Cincinnati's first used car dealer operating several locations. Walter's automotive background helped to give Jake Sr. the foundation to begin building his own career. After 1945 he opened his first used car lot in downtown Cincinnati. In 1956 Jake formed Jake Sweeney Auto Leasing and also established a lease by mail business. Little did anyone realize at the time but this was the birth of Auto Leasing in the United States. By the late 60's, Jake had become Ohio's largest retail new car sales dealership. An opportunity to purchase a Chevrolet Dealership in a relatively newly developed area called Tri-County presented itself to Jake. Again, Jake's sense of timing was remarkable. He made the purchase and Chevrolet launched into its' "Glory Years" of the seventies. The company was profitable from the beginning and has never looked back. The Tri-County area continued to develop and is now one of the most desirable locations in the state of Ohio. Not wanting to "rest on his laurels", Jake expanded in 1976 by acquiring Mazda and BMW franchises and operating them from the old Pontiac location at Galbraith and Vine in Hartwell until they relocated to Tri-County in 1987. In July 1979, Jake purchased the Chrysler-Plymouth franchise in Tri-County, which rapidly became one of Ohio's largest volume Chrysler-Plymouth dealerships. Jake Sweeney Chrysler-Jeep also ranks as one of the top CSI dealerships for the Chrysler Corporation and has won numerous achievement awards in this area. Although all of Jakes dealerships have grown and changed over these last sixty plus years his sons, daughters, managers and employees strive to follow Jakes core beliefs of high standards and excellence. Even though we have grown to over four hundred plus employees we are dedicated to you...without our customers of the past, present and future we don’t exist!

BATH STATE BANCORP
BATH STATE BANCORP
Bath, Indiana
25-49 employees
For more than 95 years, Bath State Bank's philosophy on customer service and small-town approach has remained constant. Our Bank is a friendly place to address all of your business needs — whether agricultural, personal, business or pleasure. We continue to be a leader in deposit and loan growth. All decisions are made in the Bath State Bank — not forwarded to a parent company. Not many operations can make that claim today. Our helpful customer service and tailored financial programs have helped us attract our customers. We opened our doors for business on June 24, 1924. At that that time, 250 shares of stock were issued to 65 original shareholders, W.S. (Scott) DuBois served as our first president and Cecil Whiteman served as the first cashier. Today, we are still independently owned. Our Bank was one of the very few banks that remained open for business during the Great Depression. By the 1950s, we had acquired more than $1,000,000 in assets. Today, we have helped build homes for countless families, helped harvest millions of acres, helped provide educations and cars for young people and catered to numerous financial requests. Perhaps because we are a local operation is the reason that we are so closely tied with the community. As a result of customer demand, Bath State Bank opened its first-ever branch, located in West College Corner, Indiana, on U.S. 27. Even though we are growing in many directions, the focus has remained constant as you can always expect the personalized customer service that has been served since our founding. We continue to lead in philanthropic endeavors and supports area community groups. Also, our staff dedicates time and talent to many area organizations such as junior achievement and extension service. At Bath State Bank, our customers are important, and this is why your independent bank continues to be strong and grow in assets and capital. That is why we are The Bank by the Side of the Road that is Always a Friend!
