Established in 1939 by the Junior League of Akron, Child Guidance & Family Solutions is a community mental health agency committed to improving the well-being of children and families in Summit County. Child Guidance & Family Solutions'​ donors contribute to positive outcomes everyday by ensuring children have a strong foundation for future success – an investment which creates a stronger community. • The early intervention and services we offer to children with behavioral/mental health issues is life-changing! • With 5 offices in Akron, Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls and Twinsburg, placements in 40+ local childcare centers, 7 public schools districts and integrated care in 11 physicians offices, we are where you need is when you need us. • Snapshot of services: outpatient therapy for children and adults with social-emotional issues; groups for anger management, positive parenting techniques, etc; psychiatric services & medication management for youth; intensive home-based therapy; and specialty services for adults experiencing their first episode of psychosis. • Approx. 65% of clients are Medicaid-eligible and the remainder have private insurance or self-pay.

Red Oak Behavioral Health is an accredited non-profit organization that has served the people of Greater Akron since 1963. Its mission is to change lives by partnering with the community and those in need of behavioral health services. Red Oak Behavioral Health has nearly 80 licensed clinicians and 45 case managers. The agency serves approximately 4,000 children and adults living with mental health disorders every year. Accredited by Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and COA, Red Oak has become part of the fabric of social services and community behavioral health agencies in the Greater Akron area.

Salem Area Visiting Nurse Association (SAVNA) is a non-profit home health agency located in the city of Salem, Ohio. For over​ 100 years, SAVNA has provided services to all of Columbiana County, southern Mahoning County and eastern Stark County. The agency was started under the auspices of the National Red Cross in 1919, with the goal and purpose of visiting the sick and elderly community members. In 1950, the Salem Home Nursing Services incorporated as a non-profit agency. With the establishment of a Board of Directors and one registered nurse, they began serving patients. In 1959, care was extended to include the residents of Perry Township. Salem Home Nurse Association became Medicare certified in 1966 and changed the name to Salem Area Visiting Nurse Association. In 1968 SAVNA made 200 visits, this number increased to over 16,000 in 1988 and expansion resulted in new areas of expertise in the fields of Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Home Health Aides. In the fall of 2002 SAVNA purchased the YWCA property on N. Lincoln Ave. An 18400 sf single story building was erected that houses 4 different business, SAVNA, Salem Area Adult Daycare, Home Care Advantage and The Lincoln Learning Center. By providing access to these 4 services we are able to better serve all members of Columbiana County and their caregivers. By obtaining accreditation by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) in 1994, SAVNA is regarded as a leader in home health care services in northeast Ohio. SAVNA has grown and adapted to the regulations and reimbursement cutbacks enforced by Medicare and other 3rd party payers. SAVNA provides services to the community of: Skilled Nursing, Home Infusion Services, Cardiac Home Care, Diabetes Management, Maternal/Child Health, Pediatric Services, Restorative Nursing, Behavioral Health Program, Lab Services, Home Health Aides, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies, and Nutritional Support.
