The Allegheny County Library Association is a federated public library system consisting of 45 independent libraries in the greater Pittsburgh area. ACLA's mission is to pursue, provide and promote the highest quality public library service possible for all residents of Allegheny County through collaboration, cooperation and coordination.

Founded on the principles of heritage development, community partnership, and a reverence for the region’s natural and shared resources, Rivers of Steel strengthens the economic and cultural fabric of western Pennsylvania by fostering dynamic initiatives and transformative experiences. Rivers of Steel actively promotes education and heritage tourism through its attractions and programs, highlighting western Pennsylvania’s assets to regional, national and international audiences. Behind-the-scenes, Rivers of Steel works with a diverse network of community partners to support grassroots initiatives and the new regional economy.

The Mattress Factory is a museum and experimental lab for living artists. Located in Pittsburgh's historic Northside, just minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh, the Mattress Factory hosts artists from around the world who live and work at the museum as they create site-specific installation art that transforms spaces in the Museum’s two historic row homes, converted mattress warehouse and surrounds. In addition to revolving installations created by artists in residence, the Museum also is home to permanent installations by Greer Lankton, James Turrell, Winifred Lutz, Yayoi Kusama and more.
