Primary Care Health Service, Inc. mission is to provide comprehensive primary and preventative healthcare services to the medically under served populations in Allegheny County regardless of their ability to pay. The first medical center was set up in Homewood in 1968 and is now our headquarters. It was renamed in honor of Mrs. Alma Illery, a pioneer and civic leader who promoted integration in local hospitals and supported an array of humanitarian efforts. We have nine centers strategically located in a medically under served (and/or a health professional shortage) areas around Pittsburgh that provide a full array of primary care services.
