Boyd Chevrolet Buick had set as an icon at the corner of Five Points in Hendersonville for longer than most of us can remember. This third generation owned dealership has been helping the people of Western North Carolina with their automobile needs since 1932. Veterans Day 2013 marked a significant change for the dealership. That day the doors opened on a brand new facility with a state of the art service center, kids area and customer lounge with a number of amenities including Starbucks coffee and business speed Wi-Fi. “The move to 1875 Spartanburg Highway has been huge for us,” states Les Boyd, grandson of the company’s founder. “From our new facility to our brand new 24,000 sq. foot body shop, it is enabling us to be much more efficient for our customers. “ The construction of the facility was a three year process involving as many local businesses as possible. It has been constructed to be very energy efficient and have minimal impact to the environment. The larger facility required a significant staff expansion as well.
