Aero Structures Long Island specializes in the machining of “build to print” complex structural components and highly complex assemblies for the aerospace industry. We are a family and veteran owned small business founded in 1961 as a small machine shop. S&L Aerospace Metals, LLC was founded in 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. The main business was producing bicycle parts. Throughout the 1950's the focus has changed to small precision parts for the defense industry. S&L grew along with local defense industry in Long Island. In 1962 S&L merged with another machine shop in Maspeth, Queens. During the late 1960's and early 1970's S&L became a leading supplier of hydraulic assemblies to Grumman Aerospace. This was closely followed by an expansion into Sikorsky Aircraft. Today customers include Boeing, Goodrich, Messier-Dowty, Parker California, Parker Michigan, Helicopter Support, Raytheon, Sikorsky Aircraft, Moog and all US Government agencies. S&L employs 100 people, it has over 100,000 square foot manufacturing space and is considered one of the premier Hydraulic manufacturers in the United States.

Carson's latest innovation project is a Composite Main Rotor Blade for the H-60 Blackhawk that will significantly increase lift/range/airspeed, provide fuel savings, and improve One-Engine-Inoperative flyaway capability. Carson continues to provide components and overhaul services to the worldwide S-61 fleet, including: - 9,000 hour inspections - Complete overhaul and repair of all components, gearboxes, rotor heads, and engines - Repair of all fiberglass and cowlings - Blasting and painting capabilities - Major structural repairs and overhauls - Partial and total retrofitting of electrical systems and installation of GENESYS Glass Cockpits for S-61s Carson also holds numerous STCs for aftermarket components for the S-61, including an improved Composite Main Rotor Blade that increases lift by 1,750 lbs.

Phoenix Metal Fabricating, Inc., a privately held company, was incorporated in 1983 in New York State as a metal stamping company servicing the automotive and heavy duty trucking industries. The primary product line was parts for vehicle lighting systems. With the acquisition of some basic equipment shortly thereafter metal fabricating was added as another capability. Following this, Phoenix became one of the first companies to incorporate powder coating as its primary finishing capability. Phoenix continued to augment sales by growing both in metal stampings and metal fabricating. We are a custom job shop fabricator with a diverse customer base. 1994 Phoenix achieved ISO9001 status, being one for the first metal fabricating companies to achieve this designation. In 2003 Phoenix was recognized for its safety initiatives by becoming a SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) company, certified by NYSOSHA. Current management has been in place since 1987, assuring that our mission of “helping our customers, employees, and community prosper” is fulfilled. Phoenix Metal has 3 facilities in Jamestown, NY. Phoenix has easy access to valued subcontractors for plating, e-coating, machining, large size powder coating, heat treating, and other processes not performed in house. Kreisler opened its doors in 1913 as a manufacturer of jewlery, watchbands, lighters and pen & pencil sets. During the 1940's Kreisler began manufacturing tube and manifold assemblies for aircraft engines. Then in 1979, they started exclusively fabricating precision metal components and assemblies for the airspace industry. Today Kreisler employs over 100 people. Since 1960 they have been housed in Elmwood Park,NJ in a 52,00 square foot facility. They manufacture exclusively for the aerospae industry, 40% tube assemblies and 60% formed sheet metal. In house they do tube bending, brazing, and heat treating, welding machining, toold & die/engineering, and non-destructive testing.
