The Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a greater understanding of our natural world through education, conservation, recreation and discovery. The Great Plains Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) – a leader in wildlife conservation. Fewer than 10% of animal institutions in the United States have met the high standards for AZA accreditation. Open 361 days a year, the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History is home to more than 1,000 animals from 137 species including 24 endangered species, and teaches 40,000 kids and families in unique, experience-based education programs each year. The 45-acre park offers up-close views to animals often not found in larger Zoos including Tigers, Rhinos, Bears, Primates, Giraffe, and an award-winning Snow Monkey exhibit. The Zoo also includes the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, a rare collection of 150 mounted animals including 38 “vanishing species.”

The Children's Museum of South Dakota seeks to transform the world by inspiring generations to love learning and believe that life is full of possibilities. We spark imagination for all children and their grown-ups through play, creativity, and discovery. With more than 44,000 square feet of indoor play space on 4 acres of prairie, we tell the story of our connection between land and culture in the Midwest region. Guests are encouraged to use their imagination and explore using more than 5,000 lose parts and props, but we may be most famous for housing the country's largest animatronic dinosaur, Mama T. Rex.

I was responsible for all operations of this statewide humanities organization, a 501-C 3 nonprofit, that reports to the National Endowment for the Humanities. I deepened and broadened our programming throughout the state while strengthening the support for staff.
