Our student LeadMN by developing the leadership skills to realize their potential, see beyond what they thought was possible for personal success, and to drive community-wide change.

With deep expertise in developing high-quality schools, Great MN Schools unites committed funders and schools in the shared work of dramatically improving the opportunities available to Minneapolis kids. In partnership with MN Comeback, we will increase access to great schools and close the opportunity gap for 30,000 Minneapolis children.

Education Evolving is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on improving American public education. Our vision is that student-centered learning opportunities exist for ALL young people in Minnesota and around the country, in particular those who have been underserved by the current education system. Our theory of change envisions this will be the case when teachers have larger professional roles designing and running schools, and when policy serves to enable and encourage innovations in learning. We convene networks of innovators in education, and do policy research, analysis, and advocacy. In recent years, collaborative teacher leadership has been a major area of focus for us. We believe that teachers, knowing their students’ unique needs, must be designers and deciders—in schools where they have full authority as a professional group to make the decisions that matter for student and school success. • Managed budget, materials, schedule, volunteers, curriculum, space reservations, and marketing for summer enrichment program to engage 20 to 200 youth participants in low-income neighborhoods • Produced program records for a caseload of 30 to 45 students, completed ongoing youth assessments • Submitted weekly and monthly data reports in a timely manner to identify student needs and provide necessary assistance • Restructured After School Programming in order to meet grant requirements and provide quality experiences for staff and 20 to 50 students • Coordinated schedule, budget, transportation, supervision, permission, and execution of 70 8th grade students and staff members from 3 schools to visit high schools and colleges to promote education importance

Arete Academy is an independent 6th-12th grade school for bright students who learn differently.

Focusing on innovation and technology, we are preparing students in underrepresented communities for the future of work. By partnering with other organizations to bring quality, hands-on STEM learning to Minneapolis youth—especially young women and students from racial minority backgrounds—createMPLS can bridge skills and experience gaps, and help more students succeed in higher education and today’s job market.

826 MSP is a non-profit youth writing center with a mission to to amplify the voices, stories, and power of K-12 BIPOC students through writing, publishing, and leadership programs. 826 MSP offers a range of free programs for students, classrooms, and schools throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area including after-school homework help, bookmaking and storytelling field trips, creative writing workshops, in-school tutoring partnerships, and the Young Authors'​ Book Project. We target partnerships with schools where fifty percent or more of the student population receives free or reduced price lunch. We focus on project-based learning where so that students can see and share the stories they have created. 826 MSP operates as a third space – outside of school and home – where students can dive deep into their stories and studies while working shoulder-to-shoulder with volunteers. We believe writing is both fun and necessary to academic, personal, and professional growth. We work with students to find, shape, and expand their own unique voice while fostering critical skills and confidence. 826 MSP is a chapter of the 826 national network of youth writing centers.
