Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) is a nonprofit law firm, providing free legal advice and representation on civil law matters to people of limited income, people with disabilities and people 60+ years of age. Our mission is to advocate for the legal rights of the vulnerable and disadvantaged so that they may enjoy safe, healthy, and independent lives in strong communities. MMLA’s goal is to live out its mission by achieving meaningful improvement in the lives of as many clients as possible each year. MMLA accomplishes this goal by providing direct legal advice and representation to individual clients, engaging in policy advocacy to achieve systemic change at all levels of government, developing collaborations with community organizations also serving MMLA's clients, and providing outreach and legal education to clients, organizations, and the community. MMLA’s most important stakeholders are the clients and the client communities that it serves. Its day-to-day activities are determined and driven by the needs and requests of the clients who come to us in search of help. MMLA provides legal advice and representation to people with low incomes in 20 counties in central Minnesota through offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Willmar. It provides services in the following areas of law: housing, family, government benefits, disability, health, seniors, youth, consumer, immigration, and tax. MMLA also includes three statewide programs: - Minnesota Disability Law Center, which gives legal help to people with disabilities throughout Minnesota on legal issues relating to their disabilities; - Legal Services Advocacy Project, which engages in policy advocacy on issues affecting people with low incomes; - Legal Services State Support, which provides poverty law trainings to legal services and pro bono practitioners, and develops technology-based legal resources for the public and volunteer attorneys.

RS EDEN helps people build new beginnings by overcoming barriers including homelessness, substance abuse, and past incarceration. Through our supportive housing, reentry, and substance use recovery programs, RS EDEN's staff connects the people we serve with a continuum of care that puts them on a path to find stable housing, get and stay sober, build community, and more. The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) exists to permanently close the achievement gap and end generational poverty in North Minneapolis. Together with our partner organizations, we are walking side by side with low-income families as they put their children on a path to college. NAZ has a game-changing approach that is closing the achievement gap. NAZ’s wraparound framework effectively supports low-income children of color so that they will graduate from high school prepared for college. Our approach is working. NAZ-enrolled families are making remarkable strides. Our children are not only showing improved academic outcomes at key kindergarten and third grade benchmarks, but families are stabilizing their housing, employment, and health. These early successes are already driving a culture change in North Minneapolis. Return on investment. A study by Wilder Research demonstrates that each dollar invested in NAZ provides more than a $6 societal return.

Director of Administration (Functional titles: Fiscal Director, Human Resource Director, and Facilities Manager) • Developed, directed, and implemented all fiscal and human resource policy and procedures. • Managed $2.1 million annual operating budget from 19 distinct funding streams. • Successfully oversaw large projects including office move, shelter remodel, rewrite and development of agency policy and procedures manual, and hiring process for many key positions within the agency. • Served as controller, office manager, and technology officer for shelters and corporate offices. • Built relationships with vendors, organizations, and corporations for financial and in-kind support. • Worked in coordination with the Executive Director and Development Director to secure funding from public entities, corporations, and foundations of approximately $1 million annually. Interim Executive Director (October 2005 – April 2006) • Successfully oversaw internal operations and external communications. • Facilitated search process for Executive Director with Board of Director’s Search Committee.
