Established in 1893, Children's Home Society of South Dakota is the oldest human services, nonprofit organization in the state. Through a merger in 1998, Children's Inn, a domestic violence shelter established in 1977, became a program of CHS. CHS provides emergency shelter, residential treatment and special education for children, forensic interviews and examinations for children, foster care and adoption services, and prevention services. In addition to serving victims of child abuse and domestic violence, CHS also partners with caring parents to help children with emotional or behavioral issues. Village Northwest Unlimited (VNU) is nationally recognized as one of the premier providers of services to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and autism. Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership is an award-winning non-profit green developer with over 20 years of experience in developing and preserving affordable housing in Minnesota. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire provides developmentally appropriate programs for children of all ages that enable each child to grow and learn at their own pace. Children and youth are given the opportunity for individual development and exploration through an environment that is creative, stimulating and nurturing. Serving children 4 weeks to age 18, Boys & Girls Club works to prepare children for the future seamlessly allowing them to move through the organizations programming from infancy to high school graduation.

We are a hunger relief organization and we are fighting daily to eliminate hunger in this state. Most importantly, we are doing it with your help. In 2016, Feeding South Dakota as a whole distributed 13.5 million pounds of food in this fight against hunger. Our partnership with Feeding America provides us with access to millions of pounds of food product that is donated by corporations all across America. It is through this affiliation that we are able to provide a wider variety of store shelf quality food to our organizations. Every single week, Feeding South Dakota assists in providing temporary food assistance to approximately 21,000 hungry individuals and families in our state and our BackPack Program gives food every weekend to nearly 5,500 kids who otherwise might go hungry. Face It TOGETHER is an addiction wellness nonprofit that provides peer coaching to those impacted by addiction, including loved ones. Established in 2009 in Sioux Falls, we’ve since expanded throughout the Midwest and coach members in more than 20 states.
