Fighting Hunger Where We Live. Food Gatherers is the food rescue and food bank program serving Washtenaw County. We believe that in a nation of plenty, no one should go hungry. We partner with 170 agencies and programs, providing direct food assistance in the form of hot meals, nutritious snacks or emergency groceries to low-income adults, seniors and children in Washtenaw County. Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community by: - Reducing food waste through the rescue and distribution of perishable and non perishable food - Coordinating with other hunger relief providers - Educating the public about hunger - Developing new food resources.
