Solo provider in a private practice pediatric primary care clinic. The partnered pediatrician owned and operated two clinics, one that he worked at and one that I worked at. Through this independent role at the beginning of my career in advanced practice nursing I learned to operate quickly, confidently, and autonomously, while obtaining guidance or assistance when needed.
Provided primary medical and preventative care to pediatric patients, ranging from newborns to late adolescence. Obtained medical histories; diagnosed and managed many acute and chronic conditions and diseases, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, ADHD, eczema, infectious diseases, sports injuries, abnormal variants to growth and development, gastrointestinal, and ENT conditions; performed growth and developmental assessments; ordered and analyzed labs and diagnostic tests; furnished medications; managed vaccination schedules; referred patients to and coordinated medical care with specialists; and provided education on treatment plans, healthy lifestyles, and developmental anticipatory guidance.
