The Center for Environment & Society at Washington College (CES) promotes interdisciplinary learning, research and exemplary stewardship of natural and cultural resources. Its primary objective is to support the integration of ecological and social values. The Center is home to the Chester River Watershed Observatory, Geographic Information Systems, Chester River Field Research Station, and the Public Archaeology Laboratory. CES also hosts the Chesapeake Semester and Rural Energy Project and manages Washington College's River and Field Campus. CES offers lecture series, workshops, films and seminars to provide new perspectives and professional developmetnt opportunities for the campus and larger community. Founded in 1975, The Foundation Schools gives students with emotional disabilities and autism another chance to reach their full potential. Today we serve 300 students in the Washington metropolitan area with emotional disabilities in grades K-12 and autism in grades K-8. The Foundation Schools is a nonpublic special education day school approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and the District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education and is a 501(c)(3) organization. My responsibilities at the Washington Research Library Consortium includes oversight of the organizations finance department, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, payroll and cash management. Responsible for facilities management which includes a climate controlled storage facility, data center and office space, risk management and disaster recovery plans. I work closely with the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
