The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) fights for bold and creative solutions to the pollution that plagues the Bay and its tributaries. Across the six-state Chesapeake watershed, CBF sets the agenda, serves as a watchdog, and speaks out on behalf of the Chesapeake Bay to business, government, and the public. CBF fights for strong and effective laws and regulations and works cooperatively with government, business, and citizens in partnerships to protect and restore the Bay. When necessary, we use legal means to force compliance with existing laws. We restore the Bay's essential habitats and filtering mechanisms, such as forests, wetlands, underwater grasses, and oysters, through a variety of hands-on projects. Finally, CBF's environmental education program introduces residents to the wonders of the watershed and works to heighten sensitivity, increase knowledge, and empower citizens to take positive action toward the Bay's restoration.

MSEA is the 76,000-member Maryland affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA). NEA represents over 3.2 million public education teachers, support professionals, retired educators, school administrators, higher education faculty, and future educators.

The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and the United States Naval Academy Foundation are two independent, not-for-profit corporations sharing a single president and CEO and operating as a fully integrated organization in support of the Naval Academy and its mission. The organization’s focus and core competencies are engagement and philanthropy in pursuit of complementary and closely aligned missions. The course set by Alumni Association founders in 1886 rings true today as the Alumni Association serves and supports the United States, the Naval Service, the Naval Academy and its alumni: › by furthering the highest standards at the Naval Academy; › by seeking out, informing, encouraging and assisting outstanding, qualified young men and women to pursue careers as officers through the Naval Academy; › by initiating and sponsoring activities which perpetuate the history, traditions, memories and growth of the Naval Academy and bind alumni together in support of the highest ideals of command, citizenship and government. The Association keeps its more than 60,000-plus members informed through a network of 100 chapters around the world, about 75 active class organizations, and 82 parent clubs. The complementary mission of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation is to support, promote and advance the mission of the Naval Academy by working in conjunction with Academy leadership to identify strategic and institutional priorities and by raising, managing and disbursing private gift funds that provide a margin of excellence in support of the nation’s premier leadership institution.

The Epilepsy Foundation, a national non-profit with nearly 50 local organizations throughout the United States, has led the fight against seizures since 1968. The Foundation is an unwavering ally for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizures. The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is: to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. The Foundation works to ensure that people with seizures have the opportunity to live their lives to their fullest potential.

Responsibilities included, program development, volunteer recruitment, and establishing weekend events. • Conceived and managed student leadership program and mentored youths between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. • Devised student confidence and morale–building activities, and facilitated summer Intern program. • Chosen to speak at the Youth Tract Conference and event programs. • Grew weekly attendance through networking, relationship building, and program development.

We are a private, nonprofit, community action agency, CAN responds to local needs. Community action agencies were established over 50 years ago as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty legislation known as the 1964 Equal Opportunity Act. CAN celebrated its own 58 year anniversary in November, 2020. The legislation was far-sighted enough to ensure three things. First, that the structure of the agency would be adaptable to local issues and new trends. Second, that the required tripartite Board of Directors (1/3 elected and appointed government officials, 1/3 private citizens, and 1/3 low income people or their advocates) maintained “maximum feasible participation” from all sectors of the jurisdictions served. Third, and most important, the flexibility and grassroots nature of each agency would enable us to follow through on our basic goal: “Helping People. Changing Lives.” Along with our flexibility and grassroots status, Community Assistance Network is part of a larger network of community action agencies. We are one of 17 members of the Maryland Community Action Partnership and one of more than 1,000 agencies who make up the National Community Action Partnership. Other related community action agency organizations that we belong to are the National Community Action Foundation and CAPLAW . There is also a political action committee that advocates for community action programs known as CAP-PAC.
