MaineCF’s mission is to bring people and resources together to build a better Maine. We hold assets of over $775 million and work statewide with donors and other partners to provide grants to nonprofit organizations and scholarships for Maine students. Our 46 employees work from our main office in Ellsworth, a second office in Portland, and remote locations throughout the state. We have a commitment to equity and expect all staff will use equity to inform their work with us.

Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide organization that protects farmland, supports farmers, and advances farming. Our goal is not just to protect Maine farmland, but to revitalize Maine’s rural landscape by keeping agricultural lands working and helping farmers, and their communities, thrive.

We foster public-private relationships and leverage resources that help businesses, communities and individuals reach long-term goals and prosperity.

United Way's focus is to make a difference in the lives of children, families and seniors. We strive to improve education, income and health across our region. Working with the communities we serve, the Heart of Maine United Way is a trusted catalyst for meaningful and lasting change that improves the lives of people in our region. We accomplish this by bringing together subject experts, business leaders, donors, neighborhoods, and members of local nonprofit agencies. These community members help identify our community's most critical social issues. In forming these partnerships, we are better able to address the underlying causes of problems in our community and prevent them from happening.

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce provides information for visitors, local citizens, business owners, and people who are interested in relocating to the mid-Maine region. Our region includes the towns of Waterville, Winslow, Oakland and Fairfield, as well as the beautiful country-sides of Albion, Belgrade, Benton, Burnham, Clinton, Hinckley, Rome, Sidney, Shawmut, Thorndike, Unity and Vassalboro. Mission Statement The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting the Free Enterprise System, providing membership value and enhancing the economic growth of its members and the region. Vision Statement The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce has been recognized and respected by business and political leaders and by the community as the leader in economic development and business promotion in this region; it is known as the primary advocate on issues affecting large and small businesses in support of a healthy economy and lifestyle; and is a leader in the efforts to promote regionalization by facilitating collaboration between and among municipalities and businesses. Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) is an environmental nonprofit with over 27 years of experience in sustainable farming. SHI has partnered with families in rural communities across Central America since 1997. Using organic vegetable gardens, wood-conserving stoves, seed saving and many other sustainable farming methods, SHI's local field trainers work with individuals and communities to preserve tropical forests and improve livelihoods. During our program, farmers learn how to provide nutritious, healthy food for their families, create and maintain an agribusiness, and reforest their surrounding environment. Our five-phase approach to solving the agricultural, ecological and economic problems of Central America is innovative, hands-on and long-term. Through our family farming methods, we promote food security, food sovereignty, regenerative agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and gender equality.

The Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation is a results-driven family foundation that invests in individuals and organizations that drive positive environmental change. Founded in 1986 by Robert and Patricia Switzer, and guided by Robert’s years as a businessman and innovator, support of emerging leaders committed to solving real world environmental problems is the cornerstone of all Switzer Foundation programs.
