Since 1969, Lakemary has been a leader in providing opportunities for individuals with special needs. Helping maximize the freedom and control they bring to their lives is what Lakemary is all about. Each year, Lakemary touches the lives of more than 600 individuals and their families. Our children's psychiatric residential treatment program and school are located on a beautiful 32-acre campus in Paola. In addition, a wide range of individualized services for adults and children are provided at sites throughout Miami and Johnson counties. From early intervention for at-risk infants and toddlers to retirement supports for older adults - Lakemary provides a lifetime of opportunities for those we serve.

We are an award-winning non-profit nursing home providing resident-centered long-term care and short-term rehab services. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, and Private Pay. We employ approximately 150 team members to help us succeed in providing the best possible quality of care and enhancing each individuals quality of life. Since 2002 we have been in the process of transforming our organization from an institutional model of care which has been common for more than thirty-years to a 'resident-centered'​ care model promoting resident choice, resident schedule, and resident first.

It's my pleasure to announce that Mike Lewinski has accepted the position of Director of Security. Since joining the Village in 2011 Mike has been promoted 4 times and has continued to advance his learning in the fields of compliance, safety and emergency response. Mike devotes countless hours outside of the Village as a first responder for large events and supports the activities of the US Coast Guard. In his new role Mike will be responsible for supporting the security team of Allegria Village and will continue to work closely with the administration and maintenance leaders as we fine tune our emergency and disaster plans.
