We’re members – just like you GICU is a proud credit union organized differently than banks and other financials. We're not-for-profit, member-owned and return net earnings to our members through higher yields, lower rates and greater overall returns on your hard-earned money. At GICU, we’re passionate about helping our members reach their financial goals and want to see them succeed. The driving force of GICU is simple: We’re people helping people. Greater Iowa Credit Union is a federally insured, state-chartered community credit union with eight branch locations in Ames, Ankeny, Denison, Des Moines, Indianola, Waukee and West Des Moines. GICU is a growing, member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative with assets of $478 million. Our story begins in June of 1932 with just nine people and winds its way from humble beginnings working out of the superintendent of buildings and grounds office on the Iowa State University campus to now serving nearly 32,000+ members throughout a 33-county area in Central and Western Iowa. The Iowa Credit Union Division oversees Greater Iowa on the state level, while the National Credit Union Administration provides federal oversight. All Greater Iowa deposits are insured up to $500,000; $250,000 by NCUA and an additional $250,000 insured by Greater Iowa through Excess Share Insurance Corporation. The majority of financial services and products needed by businesses and people to succeed in their daily lives are offered by Greater Iowa Credit Union. And while technology will continue to change, the products, services and how we offer them to best meet our members’ needs will never change. Our philosophy has endured: "Not for profit, not for charity, but for service."

Peoples Trust and Savings Bank is the hometown bank with longstanding ties to the community, big enough to provide the resources and banking services our customers need and want, yet small enough to care about each customer. We're a "Main Street" bank, not a Wall Street financial institution, so we provide personalized customer service and build quality relationships. We listen. We collaborate. And we get things done. Together. Because "trust" isn't just part of our name, it's what we strive for every day. In a world where most financial institutions present themselves as everything to everybody, we've taken a different path. Being in business for over one hundred years teaches us that we should not act as sales people hawking our wares at discount prices, but as advisers and service providers who solve problems and create possibilities for our customers. Our goal is not to become the biggest - our goal is to continuously improve our abilities and our services to our friend and neighbors. OUR MISSION TO DELIVER EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY WITH DEDICATED INVOLVEMENT.

CITIZENS COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION

At Citizens, I started as the Head Bookkeeper. Over time, I acquired more responsibilities which included almost everything that was not member/customer facing including debit/credit, ATM, computer operations, insurance, payroll, budgeting, ALM, compliance, etc. When I left I was the Executive Vice President reporting to directly to the CEO. The reason I left CCCU was due to be fired. I was always interested in owning my own business so I put in an offer to purchase a local photography store and the offer was accepted. I was fired because the CEO felt that by owning a business, I would be sending the wrong impression to the rest of the employees. Looking back, the date I was fired was the best day of my life because it opened up the opportunity that Charlie Grossklaus at RCU gave me. By the way, I never ended up buying the photography store because my loan application was denied by RCU!!! How ironic!
