Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center guided by its Mission statement. Care is provided no matter what a person’s financial situation is. Both uninsured and insured patients are welcome. Both our Waterloo and Clarksville locations are recognized as Patient-Centered Medical Homes, which places focus on building better relationships between patients and their health care teams. In 2020, the clinic began providing school-based health care at East High School and West High School through Success Street, and most recently at Carver Academy. The concept of "Community" is the heart of our organization. Peoples Clinic is owned and operated by people living in our community. This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals. We are also supported by grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration which makes it possible for us to offer financial assistance in the form of sliding fee discounts to low-income individuals. Responsible for overall quality excellence efforts. Chaired quality improvement meetings. Maintained overall responsibility for organization and communication of process improvement projects. Trained and mentored other staff to serve as process improvement project change leaders. Responsible for overall compliance with licensure and accreditation requirements. Cedar Valley Dental Associates is the Cedar Valley's premier mutli-site Dental office. With over 100 years of combined practice experience Dr's Trunnell, McConaughy, Brummer, Leuschen, Kim and Mahipala provide a wide array of dental care options to their patients. CVDA is the only area practice with their own in-house dental laboratory, a Premier Invisalign (clear braces) provider, and, a provider of Sleep Apnea oral appliances. Independent Management Services was started in 1995 by Steve and Renee Thorson in the basement of their home.  Steve saw a need for a variety of programs to suit the needs of many, counties especially. He began by asking the counties what they wanted and needed out of a program.  With this information, Steve was able to develop specialized programs that fit those needs. He then preceded down the line to families of those in need to develop the programs even further.  With the desire for specialized programs, IMS quickly expanded from serving one county to 16 across Southeast Minnesota ​  Steve and Renee each have over 40 years of experience in the health industry.  He began his journey by working with the state of Minnesota for two years.  Moving onto a private sector in the state hospital for 25 years, Steve and Renee perfected their crafts.  It was around this time that Steve saw a greater need for more advanced programs. ​ In January 2019, Ryan Thorson took over the business as Chief Executive Officer and owner of IMS.  Ryan worked for the company throughout his high school years and college summers while going to school to earn his doctorate in Psychology.

Cedar Valley Hospice is a not-for-profit multi-service agency that provides home care services to those with a life limiting illness, hospice services to those with a six month or less prognosis, grief support services to anyone struggling with the death of a loved one, and case management services for those living with HIV or AIDS and their families. Services are available to anyone regardless of their age, diagnosis or ability to pay. Cedar Valley Hospice serves a 15 county area in northeast Iowa, including offices in Waterloo, Grundy Center, Independence and Waverly and the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
