Friend Family Health Center, Inc. (“Friend Family”) was started with the development of the Friend Family Foundation by Berman and Hannah Friend in the 1930s. Nearly 70 years later, Friend Family applied for and was designated as a federally qualified health center (FQHC) to continue to ensure access to quality care in medically underserved areas. Since then, we have opened several service sites to deliver effective care to our communities, regardless of patient income. Today, Friend Family Health Center’s delivery sites provide care services to over 30,000 patients on an annual basis. Since 1956 we have helped older adults remain in their homes with independence, dignity and connection to their communities. Beginning at the Winnetka Community House, North Shore Senior Center has always offered a combination of services which include recreational/educational programs, volunteer opportunities and support services for seniors. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, with highly-trained social workers, counselors and professionals on staff. Together, this team provides programs and events for active older adults, as well as information and outreach services for families. North Shore Senior Center's social workers also provide assistance to seniors at hospitals, park districts, senior centers and senior living communities throughout the metropolitan area. As a means of furthering its mission, North Shore Senior Center provides many outlets for intellectual and social growth. At the Arthur C. AgeOptions is a nonprofit organization connecting older adults and those who care for them with resources and service options so they can live their lives to the fullest. Since 1974, our mission has been to sustain and promote independence for older persons in their own homes and communities. As the Area Agency on Aging of suburban Cook County, Illinois, we advocate, plan, coordinate and fund services for older adults. Together with a network of community-based senior service organizations, we connect residents with vital services such as information and assistance, community dining programs and home-delivered meals, housekeeping help, employment services, access to benefits and support for family caregivers.

Suburban Access provides individual service coordination and case management for individuals with intellectual disabilities in south and west suburban Cook County, Illinois. Programs include the adult DD program, Child and Family Connections Early Intervention, and Early Intervention monitoring.

Our holistic approach to lifelong support is unlike any other adoption and child welfare agency in the nation. Our team of social workers, counselors, and outreach staff offer trustworthy, ethical, and lifelong support to tens of thousands of people touched by adoption, including birth parents, adopted persons, and adoptive parents. Services include options counseling for women facing unplanned pregnancies, pre and post adoption education for parents, an adoption-competent clinical therapy program, outreach and education, and placement services. The Cradle is the only adoption agency in the country with an on-site nursery. It is a safe, neutral place for infants to stay while their parents take the time they need to decide if adoption will be the plan for this child. The nursery also enables The Cradle to place infants whose special medical needs may mean that it takes a bit longer to find them a home that is prepared to help them thrive. We also offer training for prospective adoptive parents and adoption professionals through Adoption Learning Partners (ALP).

Our group homes provide a family atmosphere where four to eight individuals live together with 24-hour staff support. Each person has their own room, which they are encouraged to personalize. Open Door also utilizes a special dietician-directed meal program called My25. This program considers each person’s health requirements and encourages individuals to help with meal preparation. We also offer assistance for individuals seeking intermittent support. These services are for people who live in their own home or apartment but also need help every now and then. Our staff develops personal relationships with the individuals we serve and offers services in all aspects of everyday living. Open Door is focused on opening doors and developing opportunities for all of our clients. This means that we provide support in every aspect of life, assisting with personal care, doctor appointments, and medication management. Our clients also receive guidance on money management, personal shopping, and laundry assistance. The levels of support are uniquely designed around the specific needs of each person. Fun and recreation are also a big part of services at Open Door. We provide transportation to a wide variety of events and activities. Clients have the opportunity to attend sporting events, see concerts, visit museums, and take outings to local parks. We also have groups that attend dance classes, yoga, and open swim sessions. If an individual has an interest, we try our best to satisfy their need in order to promote independence, growth, and an exceptional quality of life for every person we serve.
