At the Illinois Federation of of Teachers (IFT) I worked on projects such as: • Conducting research in a variety of subject areas including policy, education, and law. • Preparing reports for IFT staff and Directors on a number of subjects. • Drafting and creating communications materials to be used by the IFT.

The Avery Coonley School (ACS) is known as a leader in gifted education. Located in Chicago, Illinois, The Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School (the O-School) is a therapeutic residential and day program for children and adolescents in need of support for profound emotional issues or who are on the autism scale. The O-School uses a milieu treatment therapeutic approach, meaning the support of its students is designed to be all encompassing. Milieu staff members are actively involved with the students throughout the day, not simply monitoring or supervising them, but developing bonds and relationships that create a structure in which each child or adolescent can receive emotional support, develop new skills and sustain healthy relationships. Finally, the O-School distinguishes itself by providing a strong academic program that aligns with state and local standards within a therapeutic setting. This academic program is enhanced by a number of extra-curricular activities providing a more traditional school experience and facilitating each child’s transition back to their home school or to college. Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC or the Institute) is an accredited computer science institute, dedicated to basic research and graduate education in computer science. Its mission is to achieve international impact through world-class research and education in fundamental computer science and information technology. The Institute is distinctive to the American educational scene in its unique combination of graduate education and endowed research. TTIC is located in Hyde Park on the University of Chicago campus and has a close affiliation with the University of Chicago Computer Science Department. An agreement between the University of Chicago and TTIC allows cross-listing of computer science course offerings between the two institutions, providing students from each institution the opportunity to register in the other's courses. Faculty and students enjoy full privileges of the University library system, athletic facilities and other services.

McCormick is one of eleven theological institutions associated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Located within the bounds of the Presbytery of Chicago and the Synod of Lincoln Trails, the theological education offered here is firmly rooted in the Reformed Tradition. Part of the Reformed Tradition is an ecumenical commitment and openness to dialogue with other perspectives within the larger Christian Tradition.
