Since 1993, it has been our mission to lead efforts to restore and protect the greater Everglades ecosystem. The Foundation recognizes the irreplaceable environmental and economic value of America’s "River of Grass."​ Established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, the funds we raise go towards scientific research, education on the Greater Everglades ecosystem and grants to our conservation partners. The Foundation also supports necessary legal actions to help protect the Everglades. We leverage science and advocacy to help shape the decisions of stakeholders, focus on research, collaborate with fellow organizations and supply grants for the advancement of environmental awareness. The Foundation's world-class science department conducts and sponsors scientific research and analysis; our policies, positions and actions are determined by facts. The Foundation serves as a leader in building consensus for action in support of our mission. Our strength comes from the support we receive from our partners, board, staff and true believers who know we can correct mistakes of the past for the millions of people who depend on the Everglades'​ future health.

Centro Campesino is a Community Development Corporation that strengthens families in Central and South Florida. We do this by providing opportunities to access affordable housing, homeownership support, economic advancement and educational and leadership development. Centro Campesino was formed in 1972 as a farmworker advocacy organization in response to the deplorable living conditions of farmworkers and other low-income families in South Florida. Since then, Centro Campesino has constructed over 500 single family homes for low income families, 130 affordable rental units, and rehabilitated more than 6,000 homes for rural low-income families in eleven Florida counties. Centro Campesino has provided job training and placement to more than 1,000 youth and farmworker adults in non-agricultural jobs, and guided over 3,000 families though the homeownership process. Since 2008, Centro has assisted over 2,000 distressed homeowners facing South Florida’s foreclosure crisis. In the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew (which devastated South Florida in 1992), and during the 2004 hurricane season, Centro Campesino was instrumental in developing and implementing hurricane relief and recovery efforts. Since the hurricane devastation in 2004, Centro Campesino has repaired and/or replaced over 150 damaged homes. Today, Centro Campesino’s lines of business are housing development, homeownership solutions, property management, education/workforce development, and community revitalization and leadership development in Central and South Florida.

Convenient and accessible, our Center provides many opportunities for the Jewish community and all south Miami-Dade County residents to enjoy recreational, educational, cultural and social activities. We offer our members and guests the chance to meet and connect with individuals and families from all over. For fitness enthusiasts, our Fitness Center is a great place to play racquetball, train with a friend in the gym, play tennis or swim in our chilled/heated 25-yard outdoor swimming pool. We offer a home to a wide selection of adult programs and our children's department offers the young and young at heart a place to gather and socialize. Also, our Sablotsky Cultural Arts Center hosts visual arts exhibits and performances of all ages and focuses on bringing renowned Jewish artists, authors, and entertainers for the community to enjoy! Alper JCC Miami is also home to many high-quality programs, each recognized for its excellence and commitment to the community. Our superb A.P.P.L.E. accredited Glen Greenstein Early Childhood Development Center offers families the perfect setting for their children, infants through preschoolers, to grow, learn, and appreciate Jewish heritage. For children and teenagers, the JDays After School Program provides a structured yet fun environment; and our Camp J Miami summer camp gives campers the opportunity to grow and expand their horizons. The Special Needs Program offers a fun, stimulating, and dynamic program for children, teens, and adults with cognitive and/or physical disabilities and has been widely recognized for its services as well. As a community agency, we strive to strengthen the Jewish community by promoting Jewish values, ethics, and traditions through our programs and services. We are #YourJEveryday!
