Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) is a non-profit, mission-driven, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that helps businesses thrive by providing loan capital alongside with business development training. We also help to stabilize low-income, distressed neighborhoods by investing in economic development projects that stabilizing communities and create jobs. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, BBIF was created in 1987 out of Florida Statute to provide loan capital black businesses in the central Florida community. The organization has grown from a small regional loan fund to the southeast's leading lender that specializes in providing capital to Black, other minority and underserved businesses. We understand that black and other minority businesses play a critical role in our economy and need support in order to create jobs.

Lakeland Montessori serves students age three through eighth grade. We are high-performing, Florida Department of Education "A" schools that are accredited by both Cognia and the American Montessori Society.

• Designed an inquiry-based, early childhood curriculum focusing on mathematical concepts and pre-literacy skills as well as science, social studies, and character education. • Taught class sizes of 12-18 students, taking field trips to local walking trails and other outdoor areas for immersive learning opportunities. • Created formative assessments used to plan for each child’s developmental and instructional needs. • Encouraged self-directed play to nurture curiosity, increasing standardized testing scores to 16 percent above the national average. • Developed daily phonics learning material, improving student reading speed by 40 percent. • Enhanced parent-teacher communication through the development of a classroom blog in order to foster a strong home-school, school-home connection.

Cypress Junction is a non-profit public charter school located in Winter Haven that follows the Montessori Method. Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. Cypress Junction opened it's doors in August 2016 and serves over 200 students aged three years old through Middle School. We're adding seventh grade this coming school year (2017-18) and eighth grade in 2018-19. A proud member of the American Montessori Society, one of our guiding principles is meeting high standards of academic achievement using the Montessori Method. In June, CJM received an “A” grade from the State of Florida Department of Education assessing our first year in operation. Laser Institute of America (LIA), founded in 1968, is the professional society for photonics applications, education and safety. Our mission is to foster lasers, laser applications and laser safety worldwide. At LIA, we believe in the importance of sharing new ideas about lasers. In fact, laser pioneers such as Dr. Arthur Schawlow and Dr. Theodore H. Maiman were among LIA’s original founders who set the stage for our enduring mission to promote laser applications and their safe use through education, training and symposia. LIA was formed by people who represented the heart of the profession—a group of academic scientists, developers and engineers who were truly passionate about taking an emerging new laser technology and turning it into a viable industry.

Junior Achievement’s (JA) mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. But what we are really doing is helping students make the connection between what they learn in school and what they will need to know for the future. We want every student to be equipped with the right tools to take advantage of the abundant opportunities in this country and worldwide.
