Founded in 1979, KID started as a shelter for abused and neglected children. During its 43 operational years, KID has grown to include two campuses in Broward County, and a foster care office in Palm Beach County. In 2019, KID acquired Family Central, Inc. (FCI) which provides comprehensive family strengthening, early learning, a child care food program, and educational training services in South Florida. Founded in 1971, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is a nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to promoting the educational, vocational, health leadership, and character of boys and girls in a safe, nurturing environment.
