New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee is the most comprehensive mental health and substance use recovery agency in the region, with nine facilities across four counties serving 15,000 children and adults annually, regardless of their ability to pay. New Horizons of the Treasure Coast was created in 1958 by community members who passionately believed that quality mental health services should be available to all in need on the Treasure Coast. From its first location in Ft. Pierce, New Horizons has expanded to serve residents in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties, with its main campus on Midway Road in Fort Pierce. More than 60 years after its founding, New Horizons continues to work hard to fulfill the vision of its founders. It offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adults and children, crisis units for adults and children, learning resource centers for independent living skills, a transitional group home, a primary care clinic, substance abuse and detox services, case management, family support and counseling, and programs in schools and with law enforcement agencies. New Horizons provides a safety net for those in crisis, outreach programs to promote resilience and recovery, and community education to help our community achieve health in both mind and body.

Founded in 1971, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is a nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to promoting the educational, vocational, health leadership, and character of boys and girls in a safe, nurturing environment. The Clubs provide more than a safe, fun and constructive alternative to being home alone – they offer a variety of award-winning developmental programs to help youth build skills, self-esteem and values during critical periods of growth. The thirteen Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Palm Beach County serve more than 8,000 children ages 6 - 18.

Alzheimer's Community Care is dedicated to promoting and providing community-based, family-centered care for patients and their caregivers living with neurocognitive disorders, through the belief, that where there is help, there is hope. Alzheimer's Community Care is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit organization that has been providing care and resources to families in South Florida coping with Alzheimer's disease and related neurocognitive disorders for more than 20 years. Our specialized services include: - 11 Specialized Adult Day Care Centers, providing daily respite for both patients and caregivers; - Family Nurse Consultants, helping caregivers navigate the disease. Provided at no cost; - ID Locator Bracelets, allowing local law enforcement to quickly locate patients who wander away from home. Provided at no cost; - Case Managers, working with families to identify and access funding for services; - 24-Hour Crisis Line, connecting families in crisis to immediate assistance. Amethyst Recovery Center is a dual diagnosis treatment facility located on the treasure coast of Florida. With over 75 years of combined experience, the staff at Amethyst is uniquely qualified to guide patients through the recovery journey. Amethyst is nationally recognized and offers detox, treatment, and sober living in addition to services such as mental health services, substance abuse education, life skills training, employment or educational support services.

Since 1965, the Economic Opportunities Council (EOC) has been the leader in community action in Indian River County. Understanding that lasting change is not created in a vacuum, EOC’s role includes coordinating and facilitating community partnerships whereby collective resources are used wisely and services are not duplicated among clients. It takes all of us working together and focused on the goal before us: transitioning individuals and families from poverty to self-sufficiency. When accomplishing that goal in a meaningful way, we are truly helping people and changing lives. EOC has a long, successful track record of providing high-quality programs and services to low-income children and families. EOC has administered Head Start in Indian River County since 1966 and in Okeechobee County since 1995. Our centers are National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited. EOC has prepared approximately 15,600 students for Kindergarten. EOC's other programs provide emergency financial assistance, education and vocational training opportunities, individual/family case management, money management, and help move clients away from public assistance towards self-sufficiency. EOC received the United Way's Agency Excellence Award in 2018. History/Organization: GYAC is a 501(c)(3), who opened its doors in 1998. Its sole purpose is to enhance the academic achievement of children in Indian River County. A volunteer Board of Directors governs GYAC. The Board embodies the concept that there is nothing more important than ensuring that our children are provided the opportunities and support necessary to ensure their graduation from high school which will enable them to attend the college or vocational program of their choosing. Areas of Expertise: Staff includes degreed teachers and tutors, retired psychologists, professional mentors and volunteers, and recreational support staff. Collaborative partners provide specific programmatic expertise in such areas as cultural arts, gardening and music instruction. Targeted Population: At-risk students who live in the Gifford, Sebastian, Vero Beach and Wabasso areas of Indian River County. In addition to youth, GYAC provides programs and activities for adults and seniors citizens. The average daily attendance at GYAC for programs and activities is over 200 students and adults. Facility: GYAC was a 24,000 square foot facility equipped with classrooms, computer labs, a library operated by the County, and an in-door gym but has recently completed a 14,000 SF expansion. The new educational center includes eight multi-use classrooms including a computer lab, two administrative offices and an outdoor patio. Not only is GYAC used for events, exercise classes, bible studies, and computer and educational training for seniors, it is also a home for those in need of services and information. The Center hosts Job Fairs, Health Clinics, training classes, and community gatherings. It has become a vital part of the Gifford community as well as an asset to Indian River County.

Tykes & Teens was established in 1996 with the goal of strengthening local families by ensuring that all children have access to high quality counseling and mental health services, regardless of financial status. The agency provides a comprehensive range of programming in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. Counseling services are provided on a sliding scale at 53 service delivery locations throughout the Treasure Coast, including outpatient offices in Palm City, Hobe Sound and Jensen Beach, onsite in all Martin County and Okeechobee schools, and at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County. We manage the Healthy Families program in Indian River County, and Infant Mental Health is provided across all 4 counties, including in 230 homes. Our Prevention Services division has provided more than 300 free community events designed to prevent substance use, dating violence and suicide among local youth, and administers a youth alcohol prevention curriculum in Martin County schools. Tykes & Teens has provided direct services to more than 30,000 local families, and also seeks to advocate for increased awareness of mental health in order to remove the stigma and shame often associated with seeking mental health treatment.
