Jeff Charlotte is a graduate of Venice High School and entered the commercial building industry working in his father’s business and continued throughout his years at the University of Florida. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Building Construction degree in 1983, Jeff began his career with Federal Construction Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1996, he founded his own company, J. Charlotte & Associates, Inc. in Venice, Florida. He focused on developing successful commercial properties involving land acquisitions, site development and construction management. Jeff merged with Hennessy Construction Services in 2001. In an effort to capture a larger market for commercial building as Executive Vice President and Co-Owner of Hennessy, Jeff’s natural sales and marketing abilities were instrumental in growing the company’s revenues. Jeff ignited Hennessy’s expansion along the Gulf Coast south of the Skyway Bridge, and contributed greatly to the company’s increase from $25 to $50 million in five years. In 2007, Charlotte took the opportunity to re-establish his presence in the community. He founded J.E.Charlotte Construction Corp. focusing in Sarasota and Manatee counties. In January 2009, Jeff opened his new 2,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Venice. JEC specializes in commercial office and manufacturing, retail, financial, medical, multi-family residential and recreation construction projects in Southwest Florida. In 2023, J.E. Charlotte Construction acquired three partners: David Haggerty, Michael Butler, and Oliver Huff as Vice Presidents. Since the acquisition of partners, the company name has changed to: J.E. Charlotte Constuction, LLC.
