Founded in 1949, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is a public 501 (c) 3 nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to the care and protection of domesticated animals in our community. HSPPR rescues and cares for animals in distress, reunites lost pets with their owners, finds loving homes for homeless animals and teaches people how to properly care for and respect animals, as well as enforces licensing and other animal ordinances. Our Mission: A compassionate society where animals are cared for and valued.

As a non-profit built on Christian values, we celebrate the progression of life and dignity of the individual by empowering all members of our community to live, work and serve to their fullest potential. Twin Lakes began as a legacy of the family of Wade G. and Agnes Coble. The local church formed Lutheran Retirement Ministries of Alamance County, NC and began the mission which became Twin Lakes Community. Twin Lakes first opened its doors in April 1983 with Coble Healthcare, three apartment buildings and ten cottages. By all measures our mission has been successful. Twin Lakes has served thousands of residents and family members from throughout the United States and has grown to include a campus of over 500 independent living residents, in addition to our residents in other levels of care. Twin Lakes encompasses Independent Living, Assisted Living, Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Memory Care residences. Twin Lakes Community is designated by the North Carolina Department of Insurance as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). We are fully accredited by the Commission of Rehabilitation Facilities- Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC). We have two 5-star rated skilled nursing facilities and our bonds are rated A- by Fitch.

The mission of Orphan Outreach is to glorify Jesus Christ by having a significant, long-term impact on orphaned and vulnerable children, equipping each child for a fulfilling, independent Christian life in their community. We work in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and the United States. We Provide Holistic Care- focusing on the four essentials every child needs to thrive - physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual care. We Promote Family - working to ensure every child has a safe and loving home environment. We Prepare for INDEPENDENCE - helping to equip orphaned and vulnerable children to reach their fullest potential in life. We Protect the RIGHTS OF CHILDREN - developing best practices and advocating for quality care for the orphaned and vulnerable. Our MINISTRY FOCUS: ORPHAN PREVENTION Promoting safety, well-being and permanency for children through community-based programs, including schools, after-school initiatives, and early childhood development. SPECIAL NEEDS Providing therapeutic care and permanency for children with physical, medical, intellectual, and developmental special needs and disabilities. AGING OUT Offering holistic support and mentorship to help orphaned children transition well into independent adult life. CHILD WELFARE REFORM Strengthening governmental and community relationships to impact policies and improve outcomes for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Friends of the Children was founded in 1993 in Portland, OR with just three Friends—salaried, professional mentors—and 24 children. Today, we are a national network with 37 locations across the country. Friends of the Children was founded by Duncan Campbell, a successful business entrepreneur whose own troubled childhood inspired him to found the organization. Our innovative model pairs children who are in foster care or in high-poverty schools with a Friend. Each child selected for the program has a Friend by their side from kindergarten through high school graduation—12+ years, no matter what. Research has shown that to break the cycle of generational poverty, children need long-term, relationship-based support to graduate from high school, remain free from involvement in the criminal justice system, wait to parent until after their teen years, and pursue opportunities through post-secondary education, serving our country or finding living-wage employment. Third-party evaluation of program graduates shows that: • 83% of our youth graduate with a high school diploma or a GED; • 93% remain free from juvenile justice system involvement; • 98% wait until after their teen years to become parents; and • 92% go on to enroll in post-secondary education, serve our country, or enter the workforce.
