Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, nonprofit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. KRC serves nearly 8,000 clients in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of almost 900,000 people

Established in 1965, Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) administers close to a dozen programs aimed at meeting children, families and individuals at their point of need, for those who have had difficulty engaging the “American Dream.” The Promise of Community Action Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other. Our Mission Community Action Partnership of Kern shall provide and advocate for resources that will empower members of the communities we serve to be self-sufficient. The work of CAPK touches the lives of more than 150,000 of your neighbors, co-workers, family and friends annually, by: Distributing 12.25 million pounds of food for the food insecure; Delivering nutrition to 20,000 women, infants and children; Serving more than 900,000 meals to Head Start and Summer Meals Program children; Providing utility assistance for 9,400 families; Offering after school and summer programs for 389 at-risk youth; Delivering early childhood education and preschool to some 3,000 children; Answering over 101,000 calls for human and social services referrals. Antelope Valley Partners for Health is a non-profit organization whose overall goal is to have "healthy people in a healthy Antelope Valley" AVPH seeks to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and underserved population of the Antelope Valley. AVPH has made significant changes in the following areas: access to health care, community needs assessments, mental health care in schools, dental health for low income children, nutrition and physical activity programs for children and their families, infant mortality issues, women’s health education, housing concerns for transitional foster youth, case management services for pregnant women, developed a community resource directory, developed a community based care management consortium for senior citizens, addressed transportation issues, developed and implemented a coordinated comprehensive community network to support at-risk youth and their families, and played a lead role in most local health and health policy issues.

Mission The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center is a multipurpose center dedicated to independence, dignity, and quality of life for our senior citizens and the community at large. The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center enhances independence, dignity, and quality of life through community resource management and coordination, advocacy, and a full spectrum of direct quality services. General Information The Senior Center is open from 8:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Friday although some classes take place in the evening and on the weekend. In recognition of community service to the senior citizens of Los Angeles County, the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center is an official Focal Point on Aging for the communities of Val Verde, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Saugus, Newhall, Canyon Country, Castaic, Agua Dulce, Acton, and the city of San Fernando.
