Child Action, Inc. (CAI) is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1976 to promote the education and social welfare of children and families and to advocate on their behalf. Our programs include resource and referral services for families seeking child care, child care subsidies for qualifying families, recruitment and professional development of the child care workforce, and family education and support. Our goal is to partner with families and assist them in the care and education of their children and to advocate beside them in support of their concerns. Child Action, Inc. is primarily funded by the California Department of Education, Early Learning and Care Division, to provide subsidies and child care and development services. Child Action, Inc. adheres to all California Department of Education, Early Learning and Care Division regulations governing child development programs and operates in accordance with all State of California laws governing non-profit agencies. Established in 1966, River Oak Center for Children, once a residential treatment program, now provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health services to children and youth throughout Sacramento County using a community based model. River Oak embraces a strength based approach to all services provided, building on the positive aspects of each child or youth’s story including family and support systems whenever possible. Services are goal-oriented and rely heavily on proven programs with a history of successful outcomes.

Our Mission: To enhance the well being of children, individuals, families and communities. Youth for Change is a non-profit, public benefit organization licensed by the State of California to provide comprehensive treatment, education and support services in our community. Established in 1991, the Youth for Change team has continually developed community partnerships for the purpose of championing the well-being of children and families. Our programs are dynamic and respond flexibly to community and family needs. Youth for Change began its work with three residential treatment facilities for 18 severely emotionally disturbed children. Our services now include: - 4 residential treatment facilities - a Foster Family Agency - a network of Family Resource Centers - “Wraparound Services” - an array of Foster Care services support for the Homeless Youth services - a full spectrum of mental health services The wide array of services we provide demonstrates our commitment to helping families become more resilient. By doing so, it is our intention to increase the health and security of our community’s children.

CHIP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community development corporation. We develop for-sale affordable housing using the mutual self-help method. We also develop and manage affordable rental housing throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley, and provide resident services such as after school programs, nutrition education, computer labs and community gardens.

The agency recruits and certifies individual resource family homes. Children’s Hope professional staff members provide in-house, licensing, monitoring, and support services to the individual foster homes. The safety,comfort, success and happiness of our resource children is our first and foremost priority. We seek to provide youth of all ages with nurturing and supportive homes. Our resource families make it their priority to ensure these children are feeling loved and well taken care of as they experience life changing events while being away from their biological families.

Saint John’s vision is to break the cycle of poverty and dependence one family at a time. By addressing the root causes of this population’s homelessness and poverty, we help prevent the effects of these conditions from cycling into the next generation. In the context of an 18-month supportive but rigorous program, Saint John’s shows each family the door to a better life, and provides them with the tools to open that door and walk through it, beginning their journey to independence, self-sustainability and real change.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley (BGCNV) is a private 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 1995 to provide comprehensive youth development services, activities and programs for youth in the north state region. It is governed by a local board of volunteer directors, staffed by over 70 youth development professionals and supported by over 300 community volunteers. The Boys & Girls Club currently serves over 1,900 youth and operates 9 sites, throughout Butte and Glenn counties, where members, ages 5 to 18, can access quality programs and services after school. Young people from all walks of life come to the club to find friendship, get help with homework and participate in a wide variety of fun and enriching activities like cooking classes, computer programming, dance, music, art and recreation. The cost of an annual membership is only $100 and young people whose families cannot afford to pay are entitled to apply for a scholarship. The true cost of annual services to youth is approximately $1,875 per member however, through the generosity of our community donors and donors, no child is ever turned away for economic reasons and we do not give up on our kids. Our Mission La Casa's mission is to provide opportunities for low-income individuals to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with emphasis on the Hispanic population. La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. began in 1966 as History Builders, a small, high quality childcare center, whose goal was to create a smooth transition for children living in a totally Spanish-speaking environment, to the Public School District's English speaking environment. In 2013, over 40 years later, La Casa continues to grow, with a passion for positive change. Since 1966, La Casa has expanded and now offers five fundamental programs. Our Education Programs include a thriving Early Childhood Education and School Age Education Program for the children and youth in our community. Workforce Development provides comprehensive employment assistance to low-income people seeking economic self-sufficiency. La Casa Village I and II offers affordable and private apartments to low-income seniors and disabled individuals. The Weatherization Program identifies energy waste and provides cost-effective, energy saving measures and education to low-income residential households. La Casa Clinica specializes in mental health and alcohol and drug treatment programs. La Casa de Esperanza is a community-based organization committed to providing opportunities for those within our community to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with an emphasis on the Hispanic population. La Casa helps more than 20,000 individuals and families annually through a variety of programs and services to create positive change in the community. La Casa continues to transform every individual and family it touches, fostering hope and providing opportunities for a prosperous, engaged and connected community.
