Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) assists close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County and the entirety of San Bernardino County serving a total area of 22,500 square miles. Since 1976, CCRC has been managing programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care, child care financial assistance, school readiness, home visiting, and research and program evaluation. Through CCRC’s literacy campaign “What a Difference a Book Makes”, we have collected 800,000 age appropriate books. The Foundation for Early Learning is a non-profit organization that supports the learning of children, birth through age five. The latest reports state that one of every three children entering kindergarten is not prepared for school. Our goal is to eliminate this preparation gap and to ensure that every child is ready socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually to succeed in school. We do this by providing resources to ensure all children have strong start to school. We believe this takes work on two levels. To start, we support parents as their children's first teachers by providing grants, free publications and online services. The Foundation for Early Learning also works with partners across Washington State to support high-quality early learning experiences. Together we make a real impact in Washington. The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is an employment and independent living resource for people with disabilities. DOR is the largest vocational rehabilitation provider in the United States. We serve individuals with significant physical and mental disabilities. Services are designed to help job-seekers with disabilities obtain competitive employment in integrated work settings. At DOR, we know that with guidance and support, individuals with disabilities can be fully integrated and highly productive community members, employees and colleagues. Our program participants are expected to be available, responsible, active, and dedicated contributors to their own success. The DOR also funds, administers, and supports 28 non-profit Independent Living Centers (ILCs) in communities throughout California. Each ILC provides services necessary to assist over 22,000 consumers annually to live independently and be productive in their community.

Established in 1975 by members of the Autism Society of LA, Jay Nolan Community Services (JNCS) is a leader in innovative community-based support services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the 1990s, JNCS made history in disability services by offering Supported Living. This service disrupted the group home model by enabling adults with disabilities to live independently in their own homes with in-home supports. We believe with the right kinds of assistance, everyone can pursue their hopes and dreams and live to their full potential within the community. Today, JNCS has 600 staff supporting over 400 individuals. We provide an array of quality services in Los Angeles, Ventura, Kern and Santa Clara Counties, offering individualized planning guided by the needs and wishes of the person receiving services and his or her Circle of Support. Our mission is to enable individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities to live fulfilling lives as members of the community by providing support services customized to their individual needs. Our mission is to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Since 1983, LAFH has grown to become the largest provider of affordable housing in the San Fernando Valley and a best practices provider of basic needs and homeless services throughout Greater Los Angeles. LAFH is a unique housing provider because its services and real estate development address the full continuum of care for homeless and low-income households, from temporary housing to permanent rental housing, all linked to supportive services. In total we own and operate 22 properties, including three shelters and 19 permanent affordable apartment buildings. In 2011, LAFH reached 3,518 children, parents and single adults through its multi-tiered supportive housing system. The agency maintains a 92% success rate in placing families in permanent, independent housing. Each year, our wraparound service and housing continuum helps more than 500 households transition from the streets to housing stability. By balancing housing costs with basic needs, offering supportive services to increase self-sufficiency, and preserving and increasing the stock of affordable housing in LA, our work helps to build neighborhood infrastructure and inject economic growth into low-income communities.
