Alpha Resource Center is a multi-faceted service center providing support and information for families of children with developmental disabilities of all ages, teen and adult recreation, and life skills training for adults. Since 1954, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme has sought to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. With three full-service clubs, 13 school program sites and one housing site, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in California, serving 7,200 members annually. The group is also the first Boys & Girls Club of its kind to open a site inside a Juvenile Justice Center in the state of California. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, technology and sports, fitness and recreation.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley founded in 2001 offers youth development programs to over 4,200 members, ages 3–14 at its nine (9) Clubs before and after school and during weekend youth sports leagues and summer camps. The Clubs are located on elementary and middle school campuses on long-term leases and joint use agreements with Conejo Valley and Las Virgenes Unified School Districts in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Agoura Hills and Calabasas. Club members come to us from across seven cities. There are plans to open additional facilities on elementary and middle school campuses throughout the next few years in the Conejo Valley and Las Virgenes Unified School Districts.

The Santa Barbara Rescue Mission has served the county and city of Santa Barbara for over 50 years, providing emergency services and long-term recovery for the homeless and addicted. We are the only emergency shelter that is open 365 nights of the year from Santa Maria to Ventura. In 2016, we provided 143,051 meals and 51,627 safe nights of shelter for individuals with no place else to turn. Because substance abuse has a sizable impact on our community and is often a contributing factor to homelessness, we focus 85% of our resources on recovery efforts employing both outpatient and residential modalities. The Mission’s 12-month residential recovery program aims to bring individuals from decades of addiction, institutionalization, and homelessness back to sobriety, health and wholeness. Certification through the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs ensures that participants receive the highest standard of treatment in a non-medical facility. The recovery programs are operated in two separate gender-specific locations for 45 men and 24 women. In 2016, 44 people completed the recovery program, joining over 723 graduates since 1997. Our most significant accomplishment is the long-term change we see in our graduates. In contrast to national statistics that show only 21% of those who complete addiction recovery programs not returning to dependency within five years, more than 53% of our graduates maintain recovery over this same time period.
