It started in 1950 when Tom Mazzetti’s father W.J. helped form Krinard Packing Company in Riverside, Calif. Today, they grow, pack and ship with the family business Blue Banner Company Inc. – just two blocks from where it started more than 60 years ago. They’re the largest star ruby grapefruit and summer red grapefruit packer in the state, and they market all of their fruit through Sunkist Growers.

Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is a nonprofit agency that assists children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and veterans with disabilities. TMI works with individuals to achieve their lifelong goals; to live in their own homes in the community, to secure paid employment by working in “real jobs for real pay” and to maintain family unity or assure that all children are part of a caring family. We accomplish this by providing supports tailored to meet their individual needs. TMI looks forward to a time when all people, including those most vulnerable, will be naturally accepted and included in community life. Until that time, TMI will continue to provide vital supports to those whose quality of life depends on it.

The Southern California Mountains Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting youth development through conservation initiatives integrating environmental education, training, and hands-on service projects. We protect natural resources and provides interpretive services that focus on outdoor recreation and stewardship of our natural environment. Our Mission: We believe connecting community to public lands is key to their survival. We mobilize individuals to inspire and engage in environmental citizenship. We achieve our mission by raising money, organizing critical volunteer resources, and creating and managing programs focused on health, stewardship and sustainability of our Southern California mountains. Big Bear Valley Trails Over the past 30 years, the use of public lands has increased while funding has dramatically declined. The Mountains Foundation works to bridge that gap with conservation programs and education that promotes stewardship, adds value to the visitor experience and our local mountains become more valued.
