The Housing Authority of the County of Monterey (HACM) was created under the authority of the Health and Safety Code by Resolution which identified a need for safe and sanitary low income housing, by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors on March 17, 1941. The Housing Authority of the County of Monterey provides a variety of housing and services to low and moderate income residents of Monterey County. The Housing Authority is supported by grants and special allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of California housing programs. In addition, the Monterey County Inclusionary Housing Fund often provides seed money for housing development projects. The agency receives no general fund allocation, tax increment revenue, or special funding from the State of California, the County of Monterey or any city government. The Housing Authority of the County of Monterey is growing, as is evidenced by its expanding financial capacity.

The Central Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL) promotes the independence of people with disabilities by supporting their equal and full participation in life. CCCIL provides advocacy, education and support to people with disabilities, their families and the community. We are a cross-disability organization, meaning that we provide service to people with any kind of disability, from autism to quadriplegia, and we work with people of any age, from children through seniors. Our main office is located in Salinas, and we service Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties.

The Food Bank for Monterey County, a certified Feeding America food bank, is the largest supplier of emergency food in Monterey County, serving onefifth of all Monterey County residents.

The Alliance on Aging (AoA) was created in 1970 to support the unmet needs of seniors living in Monterey County. Since that time, the AoA has evolved into an umbrella organization offering a wide variety of services and programs designed to meet the psycho-social, health, and economic needs of older persons living in Monterey County. Supported by a dedicated team of 20-plus staff and over 150 volunteers, the AoA is a dynamic, professional organization preparing for unprecedented growth in the senior population.

Our mission is to empower seniors, disabled adults and veterans to remain independent by nourishing their bodies, minds, and spirits to drive out hunger and isolation in our region. Programs and services enable people to enjoy good health and the highest quality of living as long as possible.

The Veterans Transition Center of California seeks to reach "functional zero" - where no Veteran is forced to be homeless - by providing housing, food, clothing, case management, transportation, employment training, and support services to every Veteran in crisis.

Since 1995, the Youth Alliance (YA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has provided free prevention and intervention programs, including after school enrichment and counseling services to children, youth, and families. Our purpose is to provide youth with positive alternatives to help them discover their brilliance and liberated leadership expression. Our work aims to support youth and families to connect, grow, and lead the transformation for a more just and equitable society. . Our vision is to empower youth as leaders who contribute to the social and economic betterment of their community.

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to advocate for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, to prevent sexual violence in our community through education, and to provide ongoing support and healing to survivors of sexual assault.

Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. These positive outcomes are achieved through three core elements: people - trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships; environment - girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect; and programming - research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of today’s girls. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls.

Harmony At Home's Mission is “To end the cycles of violence and abuse by empowering children and young adults with knowledge, skills and confidence to lead healthy and productive lives.” Executive Director, Julianne Leavy, worked for a number of years developing and managing domestic violence and children’s programs. During this time she found two key problems that chronically affected the quality of the programs: Lack of stability in funding sources. Lack of effective oversight/quality control and management of programs. Harmony At Home’s role is to provide programs, oversight, and management of the programs we provide. Our goal is to ensure the programs’ long-term sustainability while maintaining quality control and continuity of services. The responsibility that Harmony At Home has to its donors is accountability for maintaining the integrity of the donor’s intentions.

Olinga Learning is a nonprofit organization dedicated to social and economic development. It was established in 2010 to facilitate learning about community development in the fullest sense of the term—the spiritual and material progress of a population.
