In 1937, a group of judges sought to improving the effectiveness of the nation's juvenile courts and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) was born. Pursuing our mission of improving the courts and systems practice for our nation's children and families, as well as raising awareness of child welfare and domestic violence issues continues to this day. The NCJFCJ provides cutting-edge training, wide-ranging technical assistance, and research to help the nation's courts, judges and staff in their important work. Each year, the NCJFCJ provides education, technical assistance, and publications to an estimated 30,000 judges, court administrators, social and mental health workers, police, probation officers, and others working in the juvenile and family courts at its headquarters in Reno and throughout the country. In conjunction with the University of Nevada, Reno and the National Judicial College, the NCJFCJ participates in unique advanced degree programs for judges and other court professionals.

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is the leading non-profit youth services agency in northern Nevada. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life for children, ages 0 to 18, in the Truckee Meadows through after-school, summer and track break programming and services. The Club is committed to creating healthy children, in body and mind, with a sense of competence, usefulness, responsibility, belonging and influence, through diverse programs and community involvement. Founded in 1976, the Club now serves nearly 13,000 children at 40+ sites throughout Nevada. At all of its sites, the Boys & Girls Club strives to provide kids with positive and productive outlets for their energy with programs such as after-school tutoring, character and leadership development, healthy lifestyles, athletics and art. And while the Club invests more than $3,000 annually into each of its members, memberships cost just $20 per year, providing equal opportunity to all children in the community.

The North Tahoe Community Alliance, formerly the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association (NLTRA), promotes and manages visitation in North Lake Tahoe and collaborates to achieve economic health, community vitality, and environmental sustainability to benefit our residents, businesses, and visitors.

The Sierra Fund works in the spirit of service to the Sierra Nevada's natural resources and communities. We use science and advocacy to pursue our mission to restore ecosystem and community resiliency in the Sierra Nevada.

Plumas Rural Services (PRS) is a nonprofit agency that provides northeastern California with a wide variety of community and social services. PRS operates in the frontier rural communities where the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges meet, serving Plumas, Sierra, Lassen and Modoc Counties. The agency offers assistance, resources, advocacy, and support to its communities in the realms of child care, family violence, disability services, mental health, public transportation, youth development, community training, and more. The PRS team is invested in the clients and communities they serve, and PRS is invested in its staff, offering opportunities for continued training and development and supporting the life/work balance.

MAP is an environmental advocacy nonprofit established in 1987 to advocate for open space and responsible development in Truckee Tahoe.
