Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) is a nonprofit community-based organization that operates federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) throughout Fresno, Kings, and Tulare Counties. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community and business leaders. Family HealthCare Network is the third largest FQHC in California. Family HealthCare Network has earned a reputation for excellence as the first freestanding ambulatory health center in Tulare County to be accredited by the Joint Commission. It also boasts a unique distinction as a community health center dually recognized by The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level-Three Patient Centered Medical Home and has received the Gold Seal of Approval® by The Joint Commission as a Primary Care Medical Home. Today, FHCN has a comprehensive, patient-centered primary health care delivery model with 41 locations, 36 of which are clinical sites in Cutler-Orosi, Dinuba, Exeter, Farmersville, Fresno, Goshen, Hanford, Ivanhoe, Pixley, Porterville, Reedley, Selma, Springville, Strathmore, Squaw Valley, Terra Bella, Three Rivers, Traver, Tulare, Visalia, and Woodlake. Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) is a nationally recognized community development organization whose mission is to work together with low-income families to build and sustain healthy homes and communities. The pioneer and leading provider of mutual self-help housing in the United States, SHE’s efforts today encompass a range of efforts to build better homes and communities for farmworkers and other hard working families. In the past 50 years, SHE has helped more than 6,000 families to build their own homes, rehabilitated over 6,000 unsafe homes, developed over 1,300 units of affordable rental housing and has provided technical assistance for reliable access to safe drinking water and sanitary sewer infrastructures to more than 100 small communities. SHE’s commitment to providing resources and training for individuals builds capacity of highly effective leaders in communities that also promote collaborative solutions for improving communities. These combined efforts have touched the lives of over 50,000 families, providing security and stability for families and building strong, healthy and sustainable communities. Services: ~ Self-Help Housing: With skilled onsite supervision, families participate directly in the construction of their own homes. The cost savings –"sweat equity"​ provides the down payment on the new home that they otherwise could not afford. ~ Multi-Family Housing (MFH): MFH is a way to meet the need for affordable housing. Resident services are offered including afterschool programs, adult education classes, & computer literacy classes. ~ Homebuyer Program: SHE provides assistance for families wishing to become homeowners through traditional avenues. ~ Community Development: Provides human resources & the technical assistance necessary for small towns to develop adequate water delivery & wastewater disposal systems. ~ Housing Rehabilitation: SHE operates a rehabilitation program to preserve & improve the existing stock of housing.

Proteus, Inc. is an community-based nonprofit organization which provides exceptional education, employment, training, and other services to diverse populations in need throughout Tulare, Kings, Fresno, and Kern counties. Founded in 1967, Proteus has become a leader at improving the quality of life of farmworkers and other special need populations; all the while, providing local employers with a well-trained pool of applicants. Proteus is committed to providing quality, excellence and continuous improvement in the daily operation of our organization. Our goal is to deliver services that meet our customers'​ needs and exceed their expectations. With this in mind, over 300 full-time staff in over 30 offices is readily available to assist job seekers, employers, youth, adults and community stakeholders. When Congress passed the Economic Opportunity Act (EOA) of 1964, the goal was to obtain equality of opportunity in education, employment, health and living conditions for every American in our country. To realize this goal, nearly 900 locally-based Community Action Agencies were established throughout the nation; Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission, known as Fresno EOC, is one of these agencies. We are recognized as the largest nonprofit Community Action Agencies in the United States. Founded in 1965, Fresno EOC has spent over five decades investing in people, helping them become self-sufficient. The scope of service provided by our Agency consists of almost all facets of human services and economic development. They range from pre-school education to vocational training; from juvenile and drug abuse counseling to treatment for serious juvenile offenders; from youth recreation to senior citizen hot meal services; from energy conservation education to crisis intervention; from preventive health care to prenatal nutrition education; and from vocational counseling to job placement services. Fresno EOC is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation governed by a twenty-four (24) member tripartite Board of Commissioners under the auspices of the EOA of 1964. The Arc of Fresno and Madera Counties offers individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment. The services available from The Arc offer individuals the necessary training to acquire the skills needed to fully become an integral part of their community. Founded in 1953 by a group of concerned parents wanting a fulfilling life for their children, The Arc began in a makeshift classroom at a local park facility. The Arc of Fresno and Madera Counties has grown from this small beginning to an organization that covers two counties of the Central Valley. The Arc serves over 590 individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities with a professional staff of 150 in six program settings.

For more than 40 years, the Marjaree Mason Center (MMC) has offered safe housing and supportive services to victims of domestic violence in Fresno County. The Center was founded in 1979 after the murder of Marjaree Mason, a native of Easton. A graduate of Washington High School and Reedley College, Marjaree lived in Fresno for 31 years and was well known in the community. Currently, the Center is Fresno County's only dedicated provider of domestic violence shelter and support services, including education for victims and youth. The Marjaree Mason Center supports and empowers adults and their children affected by domestic violence, while striving to prevent and end the cycle of abuse through education and advocacy.
