Our Mission: To enhance the well being of children, individuals, families and communities. Youth for Change is a non-profit, public benefit organization licensed by the State of California to provide comprehensive treatment, education and support services in our community. Established in 1991, the Youth for Change team has continually developed community partnerships for the purpose of championing the well-being of children and families. Our programs are dynamic and respond flexibly to community and family needs. Youth for Change began its work with three residential treatment facilities for 18 severely emotionally disturbed children. Our services now include: - 4 residential treatment facilities - a Foster Family Agency - a network of Family Resource Centers - “Wraparound Services” - an array of Foster Care services support for the Homeless Youth services - a full spectrum of mental health services The wide array of services we provide demonstrates our commitment to helping families become more resilient. By doing so, it is our intention to increase the health and security of our community’s children.

CHIP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community development corporation. We develop for-sale affordable housing using the mutual self-help method. We also develop and manage affordable rental housing throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley, and provide resident services such as after school programs, nutrition education, computer labs and community gardens.

The agency recruits and certifies individual resource family homes. Children’s Hope professional staff members provide in-house, licensing, monitoring, and support services to the individual foster homes. The safety,comfort, success and happiness of our resource children is our first and foremost priority. We seek to provide youth of all ages with nurturing and supportive homes. Our resource families make it their priority to ensure these children are feeling loved and well taken care of as they experience life changing events while being away from their biological families.

Established in 1969 as a rural residential treatment program for a handful of inner city teenagers, Remi Vista has grown and developed into a youth and family service provider with offices in six North State regions. Our many programs touch the lives of children from birth to young adulthood, families in crises including those struggling with the challenges of autism and developmentally disabilities. Our services include foster care, group homes, transitional housing, school-based and clinic-based mental health services, wrap around programs, supported living for developmentally disabled adults and crisis support services for autistic children.

Work Training Center, Inc. was founded in 1960 to provide job and life skills support for adults with developmental disabilities. While our mission remains the same, the jobs we provide have us grow, from training four clients in a small workshop environment, to a $12 million corporation training 400 actively engaged client employees, and supported by 250 staff employees. Our six commercial divisions, which operate throughout Butte County, provide wood and soft goods manufacturing, light assembly and mailing services, recycling, janitorial, and landscape services. We grow much of our landscape stock on-site and offer them for sale in our nursery. Additionally, we offer retail experience in our two retail gift stores. Our own buses travel over 2,000 miles per day transporting our clients to their work. Certified in clinical and occupational social work, our staff continue to provide life skills support to over 300 clients in the form of group recreation therapy, independent living programs, and daytime respite care. While incomes have improved for many, a large and growing percentage of the population has not experienced income gains sufficient to escape poverty. Unemployment is typically higher than the State average, which was 15.9% in the same time period. Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley (BGCNV) is a private 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 1995 to provide comprehensive youth development services, activities and programs for youth in the north state region. It is governed by a local board of volunteer directors, staffed by over 70 youth development professionals and supported by over 300 community volunteers. The Boys & Girls Club currently serves over 1,900 youth and operates 9 sites, throughout Butte and Glenn counties, where members, ages 5 to 18, can access quality programs and services after school. Young people from all walks of life come to the club to find friendship, get help with homework and participate in a wide variety of fun and enriching activities like cooking classes, computer programming, dance, music, art and recreation. The cost of an annual membership is only $100 and young people whose families cannot afford to pay are entitled to apply for a scholarship. The true cost of annual services to youth is approximately $1,875 per member however, through the generosity of our community donors and donors, no child is ever turned away for economic reasons and we do not give up on our kids.
