The mission of the Orpheum Theatre Group is to enhance the communities we serve by utilizing the performing arts to entertain, educate and enlighten while preserving the historic Orpheum Theatre and the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education.

Bringing the World to Memphis and Memphis to the World. Memphis in May hosts the city's largest events like the Beale Street Music Festival, World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and Great American River Run. Memphis in May also produces extensive education, international, and economic programs to benefit the city of Memphis. Memphis in May International Festival is more than its events. It's also a 501-C(3) not-for-profit, community-based organization that contributes to the economic growth of the community, fosters civic pride, promotes awareness of Memphis heritage and builds international relationships.

ArtsMemphis is the primary arts funder in the Mid-South and exists to strengthen our community by supporting Memphis artists and arts organizations. The arts are essential in driving our economy, enhancing quality of life, improving youth development, providing healing and connection, bridging differences, and sparking innovation. ArtsMemphis grants over $3M to 65+ organizations and hundreds of artists annually. ArtsMemphis has invested over $90 million since its inception in 1963, expanding the foundation of art for our city. ArtsMemphis generates arts support and invests in artists and organizations. Over the last several years, ArtsMemphis began funding individual artists and implemented a more equitable grant-making structure that supports more organizations, enabling more arts experiences for Memphians. ArtsMemphis elevated its role as convener and connector during the pandemic, helping the sector navigate impacts and plan for a forever-changed future. ArtsMemphis envisions a Memphis in which every individual feels pride in our city’s authentic cultural assets and experiences the impact of the arts in their lives. In pursuit of that vision, we are guided by a commitment to access, equity and inclusion, creativity and innovation, and transparency.

The Memphis Redbirds are a professional baseball team based in Memphis, Tennessee by. The Redbirds are Triple-A affiliate of the the St. Louis Cardinals. AutoZone Park in downtown Memphis has served as home to the Redbirds since 2000 and consistently receives rave reviews from fans and journalists alike as one of the top ballparks in all of professional baseball.

As a community theatre, Theatre Memphis strives to make an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all. From greeting patrons at the front door to conducting educational workshops in the community to celebrating the hundreds of our volunteers with a year-end party, all the efforts are geared toward making Theatre Memphis an open and safe place to experience live theatre and social interaction as a participant or audience member.

Since 2006, Hattiloo has honored playwright August Wilson's contribution to America's literary canon by producing one of his plays each season. We stage celebrated musicals such as The Wiz, Ain't Misbehavin', and Dreamgirls, along with traditional plays like For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Colored Museum. At Hattiloo, we value and celebrate the cultural diversity and rich history of Memphis and the Mid-South region. As a Black repertory, we focus on works written by and/or about African-Americans. We frequently partner with other arts organizations and nonprofits in collaborative projects that expand and diversify audiences. In the recent past we have collaborated with Ballet Memphis and The Dixon Gallery and Gardens. We maintain a robust slate of free community education and outreach programs as part of our “ArtReach” initiative, including live theatre staged in neighborhoods across the city, symposiums, panel discussions, and festivals. We also offer free, year-round youth programming, including Hattiloo Children's Theatre and Camp Awareness. Our productions and outreach programs are designed to complement each other in pursuit of our mission, serving as a lens into African-American culture for thousands of citizens, and as a gateway to the arts for thousands more. BLACK REPERTORY: A repertory theatre presents works from a specific repertoire or sub-genre. In Hattiloo's case, we proudly specialize in producing plays authored by Black writers. We are committed to deepening multicultural understanding and delivering a high-quality artistic product to the Memphis community.
