TCH began in 1967 by parents of children with disabilities as an alternative to the institutions. The families had the foresight to see the value and possibilities of their loved ones living at home and being part of the community. Since the beginning we have provided services that give individuals with disabilities opportunities to gain skills, participate in the community, and live as independently as possible. We work with many types of disabilities that include Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and cognitive delays. Over 58% of our clients have mobility issues and utilize a wheelchair, walker, or other type of equipment to get around safely. Each individual faces different challenges every day. It may be; mobility- using a wheelchair, cane, walker or other support; communication - unable to speak, hear, using sign language, or limited ability to understand; limited range in motion- unable to or limited ability to reach for items, difficulty grasping, restricted hand/eye coordination, or challenges walking on uneven surfaces; and cognitive issues - need simple directions, unable to problem solve, difficulty processing information, or an inability to adapt in certain situations. Some of our clients rely on our staff to provide everything needed to survive each day. Without our support many of our clients would be isolated and unable to participate in life.

Synergy, was founded as "Valley Oxygen"​ by Daniel Luna. He has been in the Durable Medical Equipment industry for over 20 years. As a Respiratory Therapist, Daniel has always understood the importance of patient care. So he set out with great ambition and a desire to provide a higher level of service and in 2004 founded Valley Oxygen in Bakersfield, CA. Valley Oxygen has continued to grow and has added new respiratory products like Noninvasive Ventilation, Cough Assist and Afflovest. With the addition of these new respiratory products, it was no longer Oxygen that was our focus. So we set out to create a name that would encompass all the services we provided. The name Synergy was born. As of 2020, Synergy has a total of 6 locations across California and Nevada. Our core products now include Overnight oximetry testing, End-Tidal CO2 Testing, Portable and Stationary Oxygen Concentrators, Ultra-Fill Concentrators, Oxygen Cylinders, Nebulizers, and Noninvasive Ventilation.
