We manage eight public nature areas in Fayette County: Flat Creek Nature Area and Somerby Woods Nature Area in Peachtree City, the Line Creek Nature Area on the border of Fayette and Coweta counties, Sams Lake Bird Sanctuary south of Fayetteville, Morgan Grove south Fayette County, Nesmith Preserve at Starr's Mill High School, The Ridge Nature Area in Fayetteville, and Wildcat Woods behind Whitewater High School.

Works collaboratively with 26 department managers in identifying and performing corrective actions to proactively mitigate future potential losses; held a dual role as accounting manager until 2017. ➣ Spearheaded the complex negotiations of a large, property and business interruption claim related to the devastation from a 2018 category five hurricane (Michael), resulting in a successful $1M claim. ➣ Drove workers’ compensation losses from $250,000 down to $51,000 in FY’16, $25,000 in FY’17, and $38,000 in FY’18 that included reducing claims by more than 75% in the first year. ➣ Instrumental in lowering insurance premiums from $650,000 in FY’15 to $340,000 in FY’18. ➣ Coordinated and led a large Federal Department of Labor audit that was settled for $500,000. ➣ Reduced workers’ compensation mod from 1.71 to 1.37; projected mod for FY’20 is 1.22. ➣ Established, implemented, and administered a monthly random drug screen program for employees. ➣ Reformed the entire new hire onboarding process to include drug testing, a corporate safety statement, medical questionnaire, detailed job descriptions, and new job training programs. ➣ Created and managed monthly reports of loss incidents, financial impact, and corrective actions. ➣ Teamed up with all department managers to consistently evolve and improve employee training, safety, and to communicate new company initiatives.
